operation tidy is bugged, no longer works for me

it seems like every day i play this game, i find a brand new bug that pisses me off.

today i started the repeatable quest operation tidy, for a chance at getting a badge. i've been doing this quest every day that i could before this, and everything worked fine. however, today the toxic waste i'm supposed to be collecting just isn't there. the quest markers point me in the right direction for all of them, but the green goop is just simply not there. so i cant pick it up and carry on with completing it, for the meager chance of getting the badge i want.

i've already tried switching servers, rebooting the game, then even verifying my game files. nothing has worked. i am playing with a friend that started the same quest and everything works as it should for him.

i have been playing this game a lot lately, i have even said that it is actually one of my favorite games. it's been some of the most fun i've ever had in online gaming, and i have met some really good people playing this game that i now play with almost every day.

but it's things like this that make me want to give up on 76 completely.

i know it's silly that the fact that just one bug for a repeatable sidequest has set me off, but it's also knowing that things like this (as well as tons of bugs that have existed since launch) will never be patched by bugfesta. as they continue to pile on more content that will just add more problems.

Try avoiding crouching at any point between getting the quest / loading into the world and picking up all the waste. This sounds super weird, but I haven't had this issue since I stopped after finding some random comment on some website while looking for a solution.

Also if the waste has disappeared mid-quest, you'll may have to jump worlds until you get the same waste area to continue the quest.

You can Reject a daily and retry later. That will most likely remove it from it's current state at the cost of a redo. Most likely will show up again if you were to leave the region and teleport back to Toxic Valley.

1. This quest has been buggy like this before. I forget what the fix was because it happened years ago to me. Try a search in the forums?

2. The plans you can buy with badges are tradable. Which means someone who has a bunch of excess badges can get you the plan.

3. Customer support tickets can be filed and they will reset a quest for you. (As in they have access to console commands.) I know a few friends who had to file a ticket to have the astronaut companion reset.

how do i reject a quest so i can restart it? is the only way to submit a ticket to bethesda support?

Find it in your log and I think it tells you how to abandon it.

Honestly, after you abandon the quest, leave the server and go to another to pick up the quest.
