Chems and Addiction
Ok, yes, I'm very much aware there's Addictol to get rid of addictions and there's a perk to prevent addictions in the first place too. Yes, I KNOW.

HOWEVER!

How long should be the "pause" between using chems (like Berry Mentants) to not get addicted WITHOUT using the addiction-prevention perk?

Or it's not a "static" number and instead some sort of cumulative effect? Or what's the mechanic here, actually?

It doesn't matter how often you use them. It is a percentage chance made each time you use a chem or drink alcohol. It isn't cumulative. It could happen the very first time you take a chem, or you could take 100 in a row with no addiction.

In the case of any of the mentats, its a 10% chance each time you use one. Most alcohol is only a 5% chance, while some chems get up to a 35% chance each time you take one.

Pretty sure it's like a % chance thing. And pretty sure it's constitution related.

But there are game weapons where legendary effect is giving bonuses for each addiction you have, so they aren't always bad.

Furthermore, pretty sure you can just "wait out" the addictions. Don't they have a duration listed on the status effects tab?

Diseases have durations and can be waited out. Addictions do not, and must be cured with Addictol or a meal made from radscorpions.

Huh, weird.

Aside from stimpaks and radaway, I don't really have a problem in fallout 76.
