Treasure map locations?

I know the treasure locations from a treasure map are in a fixed location but are the maps in a fixed location or random? I have never found any

The maps, It's at random locations (mostly in world containers...even in the donation boxes) and on certain loot-able bodies. Also other players may have them maps for sale in their vendors, There are also the mine it yourself maps and they are bought from those U mine it machines.

Both, I believe. There are fixed locations (I have always gotten one at the end of Gauley Mine, and it has always been to a location near the exit). But also have gotten maps as random loot.

I suppose I am going to have to stop trying to find them and hope I eventually find one or more

they drop as random loot and in loot boxes randomly too.
