everyone is going to plan out their gear.
We all know the chance for what most of us want is very low and sometime RNG works in our favor but not often.
I do like they can't be "Sold or Traded" and probably will warn if you try to drop it.
I planned out my gear when I made my build a couple years ago. I quickly realized RNG would make it unrealistic to get the gear I wanted. With a 1 in 2750 chance to get a perfect weapon roll, it would take 15 years, on average, to get what I wanted because I could only craft one every other day.
With the planned changes, I expect people will sell legendary modules they don't need, and craft modules they learn if they are worth crafting. Given a year or so for the markets to stabilize, it should be possible to get all of the effects I want on both armor and weapons.
to
4 months TOPS
its an improvement
in what way will the grind be worse
literally 12+ years of 4h a day to get your legendary weapon of choice
literally 32+ years of 4h a day to get your armour set of choice
to oh I want a
Bloody, faster fire faster reload fixer?
Well I got a faster reload fixer good thing I can spend 4000 script to get it to the ideal weapon I want that is a week or less now that modules drop from events
oh I want
Assassins Cryo Sentinel
I have one of those things on the PA I want... ok a month to get your ideal armour set
Its objectively better and will only because more accessible as players unlock plans
The problem is getting what you want is behind a 1%ish chance or buying mods (this has an exploitable component).
You can only randomly roll gear ONCE and once it has any stars you can only add via mod boxes. The cost to randomly roll has gone up significantly. Despite legendary modules being event rewards they will also double in scrip cost and be in short supply.
I'll give BGS credit for deceiving the players so far, but once it's out and in full usage... Oh, boy...
Might be misspoken on my side. Neverless, there's gonna be lot of grinding, player vendors filled with legendaries and the price will pretty much enough to cause massive inflation at first, then went downhill once people had the blueprints of what they want.
One thing I can be sure is that it's gonna be a big mess for players and untangle them gonna take a while before it settled.
I don't have any expectations then only waiting for the new patch. I will see what happens, i will see how it works.
In short? I just waiting very patiently.
Going to be great for me cause most of my gear already has the -90% weight that I like for my weapons/gear, not too crazy about the other effects so I dont have to worry about trying to learn the -90% weight plan, it would be great but I dont need to I just need to get the others that I can swap the 1 and 2 star items out and keep the 3 star -90% weight in place.
I personally like this change cause it will make life easier for us to get the build we want vs having to settle for the best 1 or 2 out of 3.
Yep then there are those of us that hasnt been crafting any legendaries in a while now and just been selling them stocking up on script and modules. Last time I ran through my modules was with my creamator in an attempt to get a -90% weight effect which I did get before I ran through all my modules. I am getting close to the point of dumping my script for more modules how ever.
They may even toss in a new wrench and add 100 bloody useless effects so that there will be maybe 5 desired effects and 95 pointless(Or even harmful) traits legendary gear can get. Further reducing the chance of someone getting the 'few' actual useful items.
IMO watching how they have done things in past, will say it again, they will find some way to 'give the players what they asked for, but make them wish they had never asked!' (IE making it 1000x the grind but removing the OLD ways of doing it so even if a player decides they dislike the new system, the old one is locked out)
Bethesda does have a good track record over the last 10+ years of doing just that with almost every aspect, so I am not really full of hype or confidence that we won't be (at best) even/neutral about the change,or (at worse) find it utterly unpleasant.
