Can auto-renew be turned off during that first Month?

Honestly, I can't tell you, what I do with subs, when I only want a month, I pay and then cancel like 2 weeks in. I still get the month I paid for but it keeps them from auto-renewing. I don't trust any company nowadays to be honest and upfront with payments, they all seem to find ways to get that extra buck out of you.

Hopefully, someone can give you a direct answer

Most companies have a way to disable auto renewal but, I would just remove the payment method after paying for a month to be safe.

Yes you can. On Steam click the profile picture at the top right. Go to account details and there should be a manage subscription tab where you can turn it off. Hope this helps.

THANK YOU ALL! I appreciate all the info-
In case anyone cares why I ask-Fasnacht is scheduled for 13 February, so I am trying to synch (deciding) when to buy Fallout 1st, have it while Fasnacht is running, then deciding to keep FO1st or not after that event has ended. (when you a Retired Geezer like me, these things are important..lol..). Also based on my first impression of NOT wanting to pay for an entire year.

Is there some reason you need it for the fasnacht event specifically?

I've only been around for 1 Fasnacht, but it didn't seem any different from any of the other seasonal / yearly events.... in that, you are mainly just trying to get plans as drops (that barely take up any storage space) and some nice costume heads or apparel (again barely taking up any storage space)

I have been playing for 1 year now, I've only paid for FO1st every other month.
So at the end of 30 days I either forget and the subscription expires, and then I go to steam settings and cancel it at that time, or I remember and cancel it a few days before it expires anyway.

I've never used a credit card on my steam account, only steam gift cards and have never had a problem yet (for anyone that this information helps)

So, to sum up, theres no real need to sync your subscription for fasnatch specifically but of coarse always up to you, and there is no problem letting the sub expire after a month, or simply cancelling it after 2~ weeks (you still get the month sub no matter when you cancel)

He would want it to line up to that event to use storage if anything i'm guessing which is annoying to manage during event periods simple as that.

Yep I did a one month and then canceled it right after I bought it.
