First and Final map expansion?
It says explore Fallout 76's first map expansion. The game came out in 2018. 6 years ago. This is the first actual map expansion that it got.

Do you reckon it will also be the last? Because I reckon it will be.

Maybe when S2 of the fallout show comes out

They will expand in 2026/2027

I don't know where they'd add another expansion without altering their sacred map. I was under the impression they wanted to leave the map looking the same, so they can't add to the southeast or southwest because of artwork and whatnot. The west end is Ohio, and I reckon they'll stay in West Virginia.

It depends on Bethesda's game progress. If they are developing other Fallout universes, then Fallout 76 Skylines will be the last expansion map.
They will double the map size.

Mark my words.

I hope they bring NCR to Appalachia, but I don't know if NCR was born in 2077...

I wouldn't call it an "expansion" per se. It is still the same map, but with "pockets" of previously inaccessible areas (behind invisible walls) now made accessible. There are still plenty of inaccessible areas around the edges of the map, so this kind of "expansion" will keep happening. But, real additions to the map, I think, would be something like The Pitt and Atlantic City, though small additions they may be.

The other thing is this "expansion" was able to be done without any alteration to the in game map. The new area conveniently just fits between the other graphic elements on the map to the left and right. That is another reason why this area was chosen as it is much less work.

Nope. NCR was founded somewhere between the first and second Fallout games, which take place in 2161 and 2241, respectively. Though I wouldn't mind having the NCR flag to fly at my camp, lol.

The residents of Vault 76 appeared on the surface earlier than any other residents of the Fallout universe.

Even my favorite Dogmeat wasn't born yet.

Won't be the last. The next expansion will probably be to the north in that blank area.

Reasoning behind this is someone on Reddit pointed out that Sacrament is now called Crossroads. Also that area on the map is clear of graphics just like the south was.

Now that they set the presidence that it is something they can do they are 100% going to expand the map more my money is either more up north or expand the mire more in the north east part of the map.

Call my cyinical but watch them pull some X-01 power armor or Brotherhood of Steel type hoops to jump through to shoe horn the NCR into FO76. "oh uh we got this strange transmission from the west it has a bunch of prototype schematics for a new US government that uses a two headed bear flag."

Far north in the Savage Divide has some space where the groundhog sits, as well as in the top left corner in the Forest area.
And to the east there's a rather big unused forest area.

Why not?
For one, previous Fallout games also had DLCs that where set in other states.

Besides, they already have scrapped any real geography anyway.
Shenandoah National Park is in Virginia, to the east of West Virginia.
