Does the game have a memory leak?
When I log into the game, my fps is fine. I get about 125 fps. Then after I start playing for a while, especially after I play in a world boss or public event with a lot of players in it, my fps will go down to about 60-75 in the exact same spots where I was getting 125 fps originally.

No memory leak that i am aware of but we did just get a new update so something may have changed. Not noticed any issues with system RAM usage on my PC though.

The FPS does fluctuate wildly though and is normal for the game. Depending on your own PC specs it can happen more in areas where a lot is going on like events.

I have eliminated it for the most part by upgrading my PC to a system with a 7800X3D CPU. I get my 140 FPS cap with max settings at 1440p everywhere on the map now. FPS drops are greatly reduced for me now but it can still happen just to a much lesser extent.

I don't know about memory leak but since yesterday I've been getting random frame drops from 60 to 40 for at least 2 seconds. Just restarted my PC and the game can't connect to the servers. At one point it said maintenance yet I can't find anywhere saying that's happening, nothing on reddit, twitter, steam discussion or their website.

If I can get back in-game the only other option I have is downgrading my GPU to an earlier version see if that runs better.

EDIT: Okay so fixed my network issue and the game seems fine atm... No clue how long that'll last but I'll take it.

Not memory leak but a hard drive issue. The game doesn't really clear the cache and is constantly streaming data off your drive.

The more you play the more it's trying to stream as it keeps track of every item on the ground, every camp you've visited, everything you've done that session.

The only real solution is to put the game on the fastest drive you can or reboot your PC every so often.

No it does not, however the games goes funky when you play over 60fps, so stop tinkering around the config files and play on 66fps like the game is intended to be played.
