As for the Shenandoah river... it was in the base map near Harper's Ferry, little more than a creek. There is no way it joins to Skyline Valley...
Personally I think the area is... Ok. A passing grade but not great (it's too densely packed). It was fun walking the unmarked hiking trails once, but there's no reason to follow them again (kinda reminded me of New Vegas).
It all feels a bit rushed to capture the increased player count from the TV show. Unfortunately that rush and bugged content will backfire...
• You felt the map was small but there's no "30 seconds" to it.
• You're evidently the only person plagued by unresponsive NPCs, which casts doubt about your claims.
• You're again evidently the only person waiting twenty minutes after events to get your reward, again casting doubt.
• Again, I'm not sure what you're on about with "desync."
• Nothing on the season scoreboard catching your eye is just a personal thing. That depends on the individual. Admittedly, there's not much of interest to me, but I took the atoms. I'm interested in the Jason Voorhees-esque hockey masks, but my rank isn't quite there yet.
I'm late to post this because I'm at work.
I'd heard somewhere that they wanted to leave the appearance of the map the same. Adding stuff in the southeast or southwest corner, for example, would trample over map aesthetics there; namely the paper map artwork.
I'm on a
i9-14900k
4090
64 gigs ram
on a 1.5 gb / sec line {not that I get that max often, its more often half at .75 but still faster than this game possibly needs}
I feel the map was small... because it is
I was plagued by unresponsive NPCs as were a very large percentage of the playerbase
I had to wait 2-5 minutes after events to get the rewards
Desync is extremely present in the new area (also known as rubber banding and you can literally go back minutes of travel time when you fast travel to the new zone)
Nothing on the season is catching 99% of the fo76 communities eye... It has NO emote, NO special and importantly interesting weapon {a derp scythe that literally no one will use does not count}, NO companion, NO special or interesting CAMP item, NO SPECIAL buff item, NO crafting / resource item, NO secret emote, etc etc etc
Its just like the last season only somehow even worse
Everything he complains about is a valid complaint and is shared by the majority of the playerbase
Almost everything on this board has caught my eye, even the paints as they are 10 times better than Nuka-world, Life undergound, Zorbo.
-NO special and importantly interesting weapon
Does it need one? remember the pistol two seasons ago? does anyone use it anymore?
-NO companion
would have been nice true, maybe Kevin from the bunker.
-NO special or interesting CAMP item
There are a ton, the stabbed weaponry are amazing so are a few others.
-NO SPECIAL buff item
True
-NO crafting / resource item
There is the cooking stove reskin, and the pemmican collector
-NO secret emote
Yep, should have used the one in the shop right now
Secret emotes are photomode poses that have interesting animations / sound and are basically emotes
aka
Confetti
Rock on
Sparklers
etc
The "dOwNLOaDeD CoNTeNT" photomode is a secret emote with the lightning rod but its gated behind 40 bucks for garbage cosmetics
The trumpet is an emote, but its atom (cash) shop... yeah we get enough atoms to cover little things but its not a season item
Sure pemmican but you might as well have a dirty water collector as the camp item for all the actual value this gives anyone... especially after a couple rounds of camp build downsizing
They need to be ones that are actually good or it doesn't really count... when a half dozen food items are better in slot than pemmican for the 20% of the playerbase who use carnivore and those better in slot ones are 3x better its kinda meh... I mean herbivore has way better endurance buffs if they want them and str / end are supposed to be carnivore buffs
Ex. Company tea... saved me from so much crafting and hording items from meat week year round
