gives you enough time to find good builds and compare em to what you have.
Mechanically, you will gain more if you are a melee character. (Ranged character do have new ghoul perks to benefit from as well.) Maintaining you feral meter at maximum gives +3 Strength, or a 150% bonus on melee damage if you let it drain completely. Being immune to radiation is nice, but not really necessary. Other than certain event or in a nuke zone, radiation isn't all that bad.
You still benefit from most perks and most mutations, and you do get access to some new perks as a ghoul. Overall, I would say it is most definitely worth it for a melee character. It isn't bad for a ranged character either.
This is my issue with Ghoul. makes them an OP Class.
You get to only do it once FREE per character and any subsequent ghoulification cost 1000 atoms. Its best to do it AFTER youve gotten those plans first e.g. X01, Hellcat, Ultracite, Chinese Stealth Suit
Just make doubly sure that you have the disguise on when approaching the Brotherhood. They will start shooting, unlike the other groups who just won't work with you.
Fast traveled to the Brotherhood camp near Vault 76 (for some screws and hopefully Sugar Bombs for the daily) and everyone started shooting. Wouldn't be so bad, except the NPCs seem to be invulnerable.
I prefer ranged and the one char I made for a Ghoul I don't know how the changes and all are going to work for ranged.
Personally I prefer the bog standard 'human' (we're mostly mutants anyway). They can use the endurance perks that are locked to ghouls and there is no real 'requirement' to using specific legendary perks (ghoul legendary perks feel almost mandatory).
The new onslaught gives enough damage and using legendary effects like overeaters and unyielding are still good.
That is why it is useful to have at least one dedicated ghoul character as it'll play slightly differently, and change is as good as a holiday.
It's meh, use an alt. Not your main toon.
