"Secret event" Riding shotgun: event guide

Yup another of this thread because Bethesda still haven't added a daily quest marker with no reward for talking to Vinny Costa. Make it easyer for new players to know how to start the event.

First, it's an event not a daily quest, so no quest marker. It's also an event you have to go to to trigger, so no map event marker.

You can do the event once every hour if you want to. Go there, talk to Vinny and if he tells you they're not ready yet that starts the timer. Once the timer starts it takes between 45 minutes and an hour for the event to become available. Go back and talk to him again to start Riding Shotgun.

Riding Shotgun was released with the Wastelanders DLC.

The possible rewards for doing it include the Blue Ridge Caravan outfit, Mask, Flag Plan and Backpack Plan.

It was just a really low drop rate got every item befor the "fix" but thanks for adding some information.

As ronr42 mentioned it released with Wastelanders so it is one of those "you had to be there" moments.

Players that were around know of it from patch notes and hearsay. It is a good point that it is secret to a lot of new players. It'll probably never be an advertised public event because the area is too small for too many people.

As a side note there are 3 teams, Kieran and Eugenie, Libby and Carver, Ares and... I forget, Ronnie I think (the rarest team).

They rotate in that order with the previous team at the west end in the Ash Heap. This is important as Carver is the most wanted as he sells unique camp plans.

On a fresh server Keiran and Eugenie will be at East end with Ares and his caravaneer at West with Libby and Carver in limbo.

To get Libby and Carver spawned you need to run K and E through to the west to move Ares into limbo. You then need to wait on that same server for 1 hour for the event timer to reset and spawn L and C at East end.

If Ares is at East end you'll know L and C are at West and vice versa. If any team is at East end the event is ready to go and not on cool down. The event is also the only non-announced public event to award treasury notes.
