It's the "rarest" one ... , mean you have to nuke Whitesprings (all raw fluxes there) or Morgantown or Monongah mine to harvest many raw ones ... .
By the way, always travel to a nuke's zone when you see one ... . Make reserves for the other components ... .
Like that, you only have to harvest your raw flora (I forget this one: equip with the "Green Thumb" perk card) then go to your chemistry station (equip "Super Duper" perk card) to craft the pure fluxes that you need ... .
-from player vendors
-random reward from "Scorched Earth" or "Colossal Problem", but you have to deal enough damge to the boss (~1000 dmg) to get the flux.
-farm cobalt flux in Nuke Zones (not in the cranberry bog, there is violet and crimson, but not enought cobalt)
Equip "green thumb" perk for double yield
you need 10 flux and 3 "Stabilizer": 1 high radition fluid, hardened mass + glowing mass wich you have to loot from enemies in an active nuke zone.
"...have to collect it off of trees."
there are alos plants on the ground that turn into cobalt, I think silt beans and others.
Step 2. Once you have enough components, slot green thumb, and start picking plants in the nuke zone to get raw flux. Once you have at least 10 raw flux of the type you need you can slot super duper, go to a chem bench, and craft the nuked flora.
Raw flux will decay so don't pick the plants until you are ready to craft it.
Yep - silt beans, tree sap, and firecracker berries all give cobalt flux. Good amounts of it when Monongah gets nuked for A Colossal Problem, but as noted before, there are no cobalt-yield plants in the SBQ Bog.
Earlier today, someone nuked the Helvetia/Horizon's Rest area. It's only the second time I've seen a Forest area nuked in the 1300 hours I've played, so that was very nice. I like waddling around in blast zones in my stealth armor, but the Bog and Savage Divide get pretty dull after the nth time.
(also, I think it was the same person who had Fixer plans for sale for 1500 caps, so my level 63 character got rather happy about that too. And all sorts of other nice plans for 35 caps).
Player Vendors often have it listed for 100-200 caps though and people will buy it up cause it saves the hassle of trying to line up a time to meet, yada yada.
I've never seen someone asking 400 for it, but I'd advise no one to buy it at that price gouging.
1- You need to be ready, nuked areas last 1 hour, so you must have something to resist the radiation for this hour, lots of options. To farm raw cobalt flux need blue plants, so equip "green thumb" perk card, a weapon and ammo of your choice and a syringe with the special mod to spawn a bloatfly on enemy death (with ammo too).
2- Now the nuked area, i prefer (using this method) to nuke south of the settlers HQ, if you go there to explore, there are two lakes (the big marked one to make the swimming course and another unmarked a bit south), a lot of water plants and resin waiting for a bit of rads to transform into raw cobalt flux, so the idea is nuke the two lakes (a bit of practice but perfectly possible).
3-When thing go booommm, enter inside and start recollecting, around 250 raw cobalt flux with perk card up if you are alone, but you also need the mats to make stable flux no?, thats why you are carrying the serynge, if you find enemies, just hit with the serynge to infect one, kill him or her, and a bloatfly will spawn (a radiated one), just infect her and kill, another bloatfly will spawn again, repeat until your keyboard and mice cries for mercy.
4- In the remains of the radiated bloatflies will spawn randomly the other 3 mats you need to make stable flux, just remember raw flux like all plants will rotten, so equipping "good with salt" perk card isnt a bad idea.
Very weird people out there...
That was patched out long ago. Items that are components themselves do not auto scrap anymore. You have to do that intentionally.
Also sadly Glowing Mass and High Radiation Fluids don't count as junk either.... even though the only use I've ever had of them was crafting pure flux. >_<
Correct, storing hardened masses in the scrap box breaks them down. But when you “store all” at the scrap box it leaves them intact and you have to manually break them down.
