Upcoming Ghoul Character
Anyone planning to start a new ghoul character? Or perhaps change to one?

Could be fun playing a full out cannibal monster.

Although my understanding is that ghouls will be made for melee.
Why not unarmed instead?

Ghouls are currently capable of easily doing 6 figure melee hits

Now that is overkill vs a lot of things, but bosses won't enjoy them

They are also potentially better for vats
They are also far better for PvP
They are also far better for survival
They are also far better for QoL

but no I don't plan to touch them

I started a new character at the start of the season to become my Ghoul character. But I plan on playing 'ghoul lite'.

I'm only really interested in the reload perk to help boost pump action shotgun usage. Shotguns will also get access to Tank Killer and Tenderizer is changing to 1% vulnerability per hit to a max of 100%. Shotguns will ramp this up quick.

The rest of what they do isn't great. They can be godly if you go full min/max but that's overkill.

With the Furious rework into Onslaught my other characters will get boosts for 'free' (I'll drop adrenaline mostly). For some of my others I like the endurance perks and using survival syringes as disease cures. Those perks are locked to Ghouls.

So... in all 1 character for 1 perk... (I'll use some others but that's the main one). Hardly seems worth it...
I will probably change my main character to ghoul solely for the stagger immunity perk. It's the most annoying mechanic in the game especially for auto-axe where each stagger bugs it into rolling/sounding but non-damaging state when you click attack button too early during or after the stagger.

And if that perk would grant immunity also to hot-dog stagger during Chow line at Camden, that would be absolutely amazing.
Bethesda is creating a giant headache for themselves from how many groups I'm going to report for kicking players because they're not ghouls aka optimal build.
(you can already do it if they kick you for being a non-PA user)
As an Enclave player yea i think you know the chances of me bothering with that garbage

I play as a 100% human, no mutations, Berserk. Part of me thinks that Bethesda is insinuating that Enclave are Ghouls.

I honestly don't have a problem with role players doing it. It'll be the min/maxers who insist on ghouls or they kick that'll get a report. And it's not to punish them its to cause hassle for Bethesda for putting a race-based gear check in the game because of a stupid show tie-in.

No. Ghouls are too OP.
I started a 3rd character not long ago for this.
On, the PTS I used another character for testing it.
I still don't understand this play style. Eventually there'll be guides for it.

Yet... mutation serums are fine?

Who's the greater monster, the one we can see or the one that hides?

Another thing worth mentioning is that Ghoul perks unlock between levels 50-100. You'd want a character of at least level 100 to be able to use all their perks from the get go.

The level 50 boost, if they offer it, will be funny. Players sucked in by that will find they still need to level a long way to get all their perks and level up the useful legendary perks.
A cool perk idea would be Feral like if you eat somethin through the cannibal perk an have feral equipped you gain an attack buff for 20 seconds.

Use the stagger to your advantage. Stand on the table facing the first plate with your back to the line.

Move backwards and forwards to the first dog. If it staggers you backwards you'll be right in line for the next dog if it spawns on the adjacent plate.

It WILL be me when I refuse to roll ghoul, and I'll report anyone who does.
