Have they added it in?

How large of a microwave have you got?

It’s not the size of the microwave that counts. It’s how well you can override the safety settings.

What I did to start ghoul early is buy a bunch of that ole glow paint with radium.

I've lost most of my hair and half my ear lobe made it into the chili so you can say I'm almost there.

Yes, Ghoulish perk and buy the ghoul mask from the shop. Bang! Instant Ghoul.

But seriously, the Ghoulish perk is somewhat better than the Ghouls inbuilt version... for some reason...

Ghouls are 'better' overall but also kinda worthless as their glow trick to get a little extra damage or AP is difficult to impossible to manage.

They won't be for everyone and they'll have a tonne of monetization attached to them (level 50 boost, pay to change back to humanity after 1 free reset).

Is it really just some perk cards?

My understanding is they also replaced the hunger and thirst meter with a feral meter.
To stop going feral you consume chems.
The more feral you are the worse your gun and VATS accuracy but to compensate you get a boost to unarmed and melee.
Sounds like fun.

They should have made a separate build with new backstory. Nothing complicated (ex: you didn't make it into the vault on time, instead you got stuck in some forgotten building. When reclamation day came the overseer digs ghoul you out).
I wish they'd put a Trump skin in the game, mini nuke time :-)

The feral meter is kinda stupid. It's easy to stay sane with the new legendary perk that adds some sanity for every kill, you don't need chems.

It also has some harsh penalties for going full feral. Sure you get a 200% melee boost but it comes with charisma, endurance, AP and health penalties. My current full health melee character can already get high bonuses without the penalties from unyielding armour (yes, as a full health you'll take damage in combat) and adrenal reaction mutation.

The only difference is glow. To get glow you take radiation after you're at full health. It acts like an extra health bar. That's the problem. You take damage you lose glow, you use one of the abilities you lose glow. You have to constantly take rad damage.

On the PTS I've tried a gamma gun at point blank to radiate me to gain glow as I use it for perks. It wasn't that good as the amount of rads I got back varied wildly based on what I fought for some reason... Mole Miners, huge spike. Scorched, hardly anything...

So unless you like consumable spam (toxic goo which consoles/controllers can't do easily) or are fighting in high rad environment such as nuke zone or Rad Rumble (yeah, great... Ghouls in the spawn rooms...) the Ghouls are only semi good (some non glow perks are good).

Can they use the cannibalism perk? It also gives you rads when you eat someone.

Yeah, I think they can, not 100% sure as some food related perks get locked out.

Ghouls do also have a perk that allows them to take more rads from food. You'd have to clear any herbivore/carnivore mutation first as they stop rads.
