Slow walking only

Over the last few days I've experienced slow walking, can not run. i can only walk the game slowly. Once in a while I can walk OK but it doesn't last long. It's not from being over encumbered.

There is a "hidden" walk key, I believe the buttons are C, Caps Lock and ( ? or / ).

None of those worked I should have mentioned I'm using an Xbox controller. I have a few other games on Steam including FO4 and New Vegas and they're OK.

If you are using PA drop all your fusion cores from your ammo section and pick them back up. Doing this can fix many PA related issues.

That did the trick initially but now the same prob is back. I don't have power armor but I've been taking the cores when I come across them. This is my first time playing. I'm considering starting a new game I'm at level 22, may try starting at level 20. Not crazy about the game so far, too much micro manage. It doesn't matter if I'm holding fuel cores or not, an hour ago dumping the cores solved the prob.

Starting at 20 does absolutely nothing for you, if you think your perks are all wrong that can always be changed as you level up. There is a hard cap at level 50 where everything is unlocked for you. Beyond 50, you will still get extra perks, so you can always just switch them out.

How much weight are you carrying? How much weight can you carry? If you've been picking up fusion cores and not using them, they weigh a TON unless you have the right perk maxed out. At level 22 you shouldn't need too many.

It sounds like you are encumbered and are always out of AP.

Maybe I'm confused thru most of the game I've been encumbered but could still walk, no fast travel. Today after dumping the fuel cores and still being way encumbered I was suddenly able to walk. I write the post saying prob solved, sign off Steam, come back a while later and now prob not solved, still slow walk.

I would really recommend doing your best to get your weight under control. You will enjoy the game much better when you can run and fast travel etc.

Any junk you pick up should be scrapped and moved to your stash box.
Any weapons and armor you are not using should be scraped and moved to your stash box.
If you are not using power armor, don’t waste the carry weight on fusion cores.
If you are not using mininukes, missiles, cannonballs 40mm grenade rounds. Drop them.
Keep an eye on grenades and other ammo that you aren’t using.

If you can't part with it, your in the Eating Food, to keep jogging world. Mole rat, and grilled radstag, are part of that. I hope you find the perks that changed, or what is overburdening you.

For the last hour or so I've been playing normally I have no idea why. I'm way encumbered. I'm pretty up on perks and the system but I have made a mistake recently choosing a one star card I already had. Smh
