PS I bet you had more than 2 hour before demanding a refund, no?
Game uses AWS servers and I get a ping of around 13-16ms to the server from Melbourne.
They were assumed to be in Japan for Asia Pacific but that would have been around 100ms for people in Australia.
But... that's also dependant on player numbers. Servers are spooled up and down depending on demand. If demand is low you'll end up connected to your next closest area.
Game only has 4 global areas as far as I'm aware. East USA, Asia Pacific, Europe Central and Europe West. You can see your pings to all zones in the file Documents/My Games/Fallout 76/Logs/FinalReleaseLogger/Client_FinalReleaseLog.0
AUS doesn't care about EULA.
Wait you said it doesn't mean ♥♥♥♥.
That being said who would want to devote resources to a region where "eula doesn't even matter".
They aren't private servers, they are private instances. You log out it logs out soon after,
You won't have any different of a connection than if public.
Are you sure?
All servers are on Amazon hardware.
discs, loot doesnt spawn as if the server was "new".
so no reasons to buy f1st for them. only for the tents, and the various extra stashes and cosmetics.sry
Years ago I was directly told by several people acting like they knew what they were talking about that there were no servers here in Australia at all, but that is clearly false. The ping don't lie.
Anyway maybe Mooman or someone else knows but i was always told that there is the game server you connect to but also a database server in Austin Texas which is why the game can feel so laggy at times. Especially with stash and workbenches which are accessing your characters owned items such as weapons, armours and junk materials etc.
Not sure if true but it would explain why that 30ms or better ping still feels so laggy and crap at times.
Yeah, I believe so as it appears in that clientlogger file too. For me ping to USA East is around 200-300ms and I'll 'feel' it during certain character changing events such as building or perk swapping.
For reference the PTS is entirely on USA East and the lag just moving around is noticeable. On the live servers I like using block during melee, particularly vs Scorchedbeasts. Live I can time it, PTS... forget it as my client and server aren't in sync due to lag I'll always take damage.
