Seems a lot of people struggle with this encounter. I don't remember it much, so it must not have left much of an impression on me.
I use a Vamp/Explosive gatling gun most of the time, so it's probably what I used on him. It must have been effective because he died and I won.
There is nothing else to it sadly, no special mechanic or clever way to deal with him just a damn hp sponge battle. Such forward thinking Bethesda :P
Just post what build your using and if not I, someone here will offer help.
Again, just make sure u pay it forward (even if in another game) later on.
But (and again idk...) i do not think u can actually 'help' with this quest, I think it (like many of the story quests in this 'multiplayer' game lol) are solo instances. Best u can do is give advice and maybe gear.
You talk to them on Steam or Discord or wherever. Letting each other know your in game account name. Then you add them to the friends list just like any other friend. You can then join each others server from the social menu.
Note: If you are on a public or private team and the person who needs assistance with a specific quest and they are the leader. You can enter the instance with them taking the "join the leader" option. They can then be a hired gun.
You'll need a lot of stimpacks or other healing and just say in front of him, taking out the adds when they spawn.
