[No Manz Guy]

I read someone claiming you can melee this guy if you stand on power armor that you've placed in front of him. I've been trying to find the right distance, but the vampire's on my auto axe can't keep up with his damage. Anyone know the details of this setup or if it works at all?

Angry turtle demonstrated cheesing this in a video.
He puts two frames next to the platform then presses the button and jumps on his frames.
IIRC he first uses a weapon to attack the shield.
A minigun I think and uses his damage reflection to predominately take down the shield using it's own attacks.
When the shield is down he uses the autoaxe to eat through the robot.

OK, HOW is he getting those damage numbers out of his auto axe? He claims he's not a full melee build, but he's doubling or tripling my damage. My auto axe is a vampire's with +40% power attack damage and +3 strength. I've got 15 strength in SPECIAL, 1 level of each slugger perk, and all the food buffs (glowing meat steak instead of tasty yao guai). I'm also using tenderizer (3)

Haven't seen the video but I'd assume it's due Incisor perk, very important if you want to do any proper damage with melee.

Well, then I'm out of ideas (not a melee expert), maybe he's using AA or Bloodied auto-axe.

Well str 15 base is pretty common with the gatling plasma being the king currently of ranged

Then you want

Troubleshooters (overeaters vs him is for noobs) + 2* str + xxxx + something 4* armour (probably richochet)

Makes you immune to damage from the robot and gives you base 25 str... literally 5% of your health is more than enough at this point to stand in his face

Take the 5 from radiation and you are at 30 already

Autoaxe - Bloodied (AA is also ok) + 40% power + 3 str + Pounders

Now you are base 33 str
Perk cards can give you pretty massive anti armour already

Add in carnivore food and other buffs and your melee is high
Add in sugar free nukashine (I gotta figure out where to get more of this)
etc

On full min/max I can hit the boss solo for 1800 per chew [so turtles ~600s are very very low) (again, pounders its broken) and he disappears very, very, very quickly

Throw in some teammates using the new 4* fire and poison thing and you gain an additive 100% damage which makes him suffer more... haven't had a team when I've done melee other than my first not min/max'ed attempt (was only at 700 damage per chew) where my frames disappeared under me and I died teaching me a lesson about timing (I tried dropping frames to see if you could abandon them and have them last forever but they spawn away from the thing)

Problem is its annoying and requires things I have in extremely limited quantity

PLUS after 60s your armour disappears so if you can't kill him quick you gotta be mindful of the time or you fall and instant die on his platform

Easier to just gatling plasma his face at 1.5x slower kill speed but no setup and potential accidental death wipes


Yeah its probably the best solo meta

but squads are doing

4 man - kill before first fire (and repeat)
OR
above +
4 man - quick mole runs on drill full squad on gas
4 man sigma melee slaughter (they die sooooo quick to this)
Door glitch bypass section 4
4 man gatling plasma snake slaughter (usually before it tails the second time)

Actually I didn't consider this, dropping certain item boxes did used to allow platforms to stand on that float... I wonder cause this would change it to be so much easier

..and mutations that boost strength and melee damage.
He has two axes.
One vampire for general use and another anti armor for bosses.
I think he's demonstrating how you can use a general melee build to farm the first boss.
Some players are doing that to get the new gear.

I'm trying to do this without creating entirely different gear; I don't have the mods to do that. I already spent a lot making a full troubleshooter's PA and a rapid vampiric minigun. Am I just stuck waiting for a team to join?

Well he's a carnivore and on a team and using strange in numbers which boosts his positive mutation effects.
I don't know if you can just join a casual team and do the first RAID one solo to get the boost to damage if you aren't the team leader.

Yes, I have seen this too. As, I plan to try it myself today. After I finish my layout, armor, and weapons..

update: No success..yet...lol!
