MASSIVE GLITCH - Merchants beware!
I was at the caps cap and unplugged my vending machines for the night.

PEOPLE CAN STILL SHOP FROM UN-POWERED VENDING MACHINES

I was forced to put them into storage instead after losing 5000 caps.

This is not a new thing. Unpowered vendors have worked as long as I know. They just don't light up or do whatever animations.

If you don't want your vendors to sell stuff, you have to remove them from the camp.

I've been playing for a year now and never come across this situation. I thought It might have something to do with being a best build camp. They might be testing vendors working in best build camps even when not powered and forgot to put it in the patch notes.

Yep its been this way for a while now, they dont need power to operate. Many people actually started building shacks and when they dont want to sell anymore because they are at max caps they take and lock the door so no one can access the vending machine.

I plan on doing this if Bethesda ever brings out double sided interior walls that we can wallpaper each side individually. I can free up a lot of camp budget knocking down my interior walls and replacing the gliched walls and can use some of those walls to build me a vendor room that I can lock down.

Vending machines have always worked when un-powered. Them being powered just makes them show up on the map for everyone.

Delete them all except for one and then store it in build mode. This will keep all your items in the vendor so when you place it again it is all ready to go and you don't need to add all your items again.

like what others have said, the only thing that changes with power is that it will show up in the map for others, vending machines will always work, even if not powered, this has been a thing since atleast before wastelanders

yeah many people dont bother to power them, delete the vendors or make your camp map icon toggled to OFF

Yeah. Remove all vendor machine things from the CAMP.
Store them.

I'm a relatively new player and presumed that disconnecting the player vendor from power would stop it from trading.
It didn't take me long to work out that to stop trading you need to store it.
What I have done since is store all the player vendors except one at a particular better located CAMP.
When I want to trade I switch to that CAMP.

You can also click on your camp icon on the map and turn public off/on as you see fit.

It's resolved now. I just wanted to warn the community there was a potential glitch.

Always have done this. I just put them in storage. Ones that I can't move I just don't use that camp on normal server or I empty them out. I've only turned one camp with a vendor on in 2 years now, always capped out anyway.

Bethesda should build in some overflow stack only for the vendor, sometimes people buying so much stuff they push you in seconds to the cap you cant react so fast, they keep buying and you get zero for it, i had this few times and only solution is quickly log out, its just stupid with the cap.

I use to fly across the wasteland buying npc vendor plans but there aren't anymore left! Even cleaned out whitespring.
