Ultracite Plasma Cores, No contextual ammo drops?
Finally tried out a Gatling Plasma gun, started small against Schorched, moved on to Super Mutants, Yoa Guai, Deathclaw, Mothman and eventually an Ogua. I didn't get any contextual ammo drops. Then went to several containers that I know provide contextual ammo, but nothing. Finally opened a couple of Mutated Part Packs and still denied.

How do gatling plasma users stay stocked with ammo?

Using the recharger from this season.
Damn, you had me excited for a second. But then looked it up and it's a FO1st item.

daily ops boss reward , creating ammunition , it's especialy good with ultracite moddyfication.
also plasma cores are counted somewhat diffrent than other amunition and still can be looted from enemies and containers , but much more rare.

If you want the recharger now you can click on it and an option will come up to buy the season pass for IIRC 1500 Atoms which will also give you access to 1000 Fallout 1st Atoms for a net cost of 500 Atoms.
Presumably it will be available at a later date by other means.
I don't think it handles Ultracite cores though.

I use both ultracite gatling laser primed and a gatling plasma with ultracite cores. You can still get ammo drops but they are much more rare for cores.

Plus if you go around to ammo containers with your gatling plasma equipped and you fail to get any ultracite cores, that means you need to wait for them all to reset before trying again. Much better to use a gun that will drop ammo always like a flamer or 50 cal etc as it is guaranteed ammo. Best place is the BoS base down the hill west of where meat week is. There are something like 10 ammo containers and duffles in the one area. It is the best spot on the map for ammo farming.

Also does the recharger do ultracite plasma cores? That is news to me. I thought it was regular cores only same as the fusion core recharger?

Blood Eagles heavy weapon users have a good chance of having cores on them.

One spawns up the rail tracks from Pleasant Valley. One near pump house of farm south of Watoga. One at top of pylon in Cranberry Bog (sorry, name escapes me...).

There are others around but those are the ones that aren't farmed often.

Do Daily Ops. They drop plenty of cores.

I have never tried ultracite cores, but Expeditions do award regular cores when you finish with appropriate weapon equipped. I would assume they also do ultracite if you have ultracite weapon. 2 of the Atlantic city expeditions are fast to run and if you have team you can use alternate weapon or hold back on how many shots you use. Then swap to core weapon at end for reward. Fair warning though, most of the time the cores are like 80-90% charged. Meaning i end up with 6x 90% plasma cores each run.
