Do legendary Effects stack?
Like if I got nocturnal, in example, on multiple pieces of armor, does the effect stack, or is it once per character as like a "nocturnal buff"

If its a +# (ex unyielding) then it will stack in a 1+1 fashion

If its a x% or +% effect it will stack but with diminishing returns (and often they have hard caps)

If its an effect then the effect is achieved from one piece (ex. Gimbled bracers)

You'd have to list what specific ones you wanted, or look them up cause their are just too many

I'm going from fed76 and its old now

but Nocturnal was

Gives 10% bonus to DR and ER between 9:00PM and 5:59 AM.

Which means

1 piece would be 10% flat damage reduction
2nd piece would be 10% of the 90% left + 10% so 19%
3rd piece would be 10% of the 81% left + 19% so 27.1%
4th = 34.39%
5th = 40.951%

Then if you had OTHER % reductions (ex dodgy 30% or pa 42%)
Dodgy would bring it to 58.666%
PA + Dodgy would bring it to 76.026%

THEN you factor in the armour reduction calc for what the final is

BUT ASSUMING 0 armour and no other effects

1 nocturnal would mean a 100 damage shot became 90
2 would be 81
5 would be 61
PA + Dodgy would be 24

When you then throw on the armour reduction from the values (additive but with a formula that has a hard soft cap around 400) you can get to about 98% at the peak of night with nocturnal for a 100 damage shot doing 2

As far as I know some like Miasma's do but not sure about other effects that are based on stacks. I'm sure someone more familiar with 4-star stuff will chime in, I haven't really bothered with them.

If you inspect the mod box it should tell you what it's supposed to do.
Full stack is 5 pieces.

Are you sure it means stacked effects and not Onslaught stacks?

When I inspect a legendary mod box, it says nothing about anything. Maybe that got updated recently. Like it's totally blank as to what they do. Have to go into the crafting bench to see the effect.

And even there, no explanation as to what it does if stacked.

For clarity, by stacking, I mean if I take multiple armor pieces with the same legendary effect.

For example, does 5x pieces with nocturnal give me 5x the bonuses at night, or just the one "nocturnal effect"?

Like said all 1st star armor effects that buff damage resistances etc stack, so 5x Nocturnal mod gives 5x the effect, same with Unyielding, Vanguard, Overeater's etc.

Yeah, effects will stack except for chameleon effects.

You'll see YouTube videos of people claiming they do, but they are full of crap. The chameleon effect on any item is nothing more than a visual transform, it adds no extra sneak ability.

It is mostly a PvP effect. Items that do add sneak, Stealth Boy and Chinese Stealth Armour, do so via a seperate stealth bonus added to the item.

I heard you, and was believing, but then the side talk about onslaught stacks made me wonder if I was being misunderstood.

Thank you for the clarification.
