vertical stairs
Can you tell me what to use so I can build on a square multiple floors of stairs? Or a hint for a search for video tutorial? Please help.

You start with a Foundation, then the first stairs, then an "Upper Floor", then more stairs. In the build menu the upper floor is the flat square with no foundation part under it.
ok will try it.

You can also snap stairs together without an upper floor if you just want a very tall staircase.
i just want to build stacking stairs on one foundation. It seems you cannot

Are you trying to do something like this? Imagine it as viewed from the side. The slashes are stairs and the underscores are floor tiles.

Placement of that would require the stairs to be offset to either side of the tile, instead of centered. It is entirely possible to do that, last time I checked. There are several tutorials on YouTube. Search for "Fallout 76 flush staircase".

This also limits your ability to place floor tiles on the upper floors. Placing a floor tile requires at least one floor tile snapped to the top of a staircase somewhere on that level. So you either have to build your upper floors using roofs, or build another "legit" staircase somewhere else in your base.

You cannot stack stairs on one foundation, but there is the stackable foundation that takes 2 squares and can be stacked at least 7 high, depending on where your camp device is placed.

Be warned, it takes a lot of FU’s to stack.

A single foundation tower isn't really possible to have stairs.

If you had the wall mounted ramps from a previous season, then sorta. The ramps attach to walls but are finicky.
