Questions about backpacks.
So getting back into the game after some years away. I've always used a demoncat backpack. I didn't realize it was another highly customizable piece of equipment. It looks like you can have backpacks with much higher carry weight. I think mine is only 20lbs. Can I mod my demoncat backpack to carry more weight? Seems like if I can carry more weight with a different backpack, that's worth a lot.

Thanks for any basic info.

You mean tadpole chalanges you get a bigger backpack. And then you have to grind dailly quests to buy the backpack carry weight increase mod. Amongs others.
Okay, so no way to mod a backpack? I thought I was reading that was a thing, but maybe not. Or a way to level a backpack? Can I get a level 50 backpack that is better than a level 30 backpack?

Thanks.

No there is two backpack variants and there are mods. The bigger backpack you get doing a quest. Mods you get either with possum badges or with gold bullion. The carry weight increase backpack mod you need 8 possum badges . Easier is to farm dailly quests Operation Tiddy and stings and bees.

The Mr. Demonic is just a skin for show. There are many backpack skins.

There is the Standard backpack and the Large backpack(60 lb). You make them at a Armor bench.

Then, there's the High Capacity mod you buy for Badges, that makes the large pack hold 120 lb.

As said above do the Scout Camp challenges and the Daily quests-Operation Tidy & Stings and Things to earn badges. Then at the Scout Camp there's a kiosk/sign at the Camp where you spend the Badges.

I can get a pack that will carry 120???

And am I understanding that I could make it and put the demon skin on it somehow so it looks the same still?

Yes but you need to grind both for bigger backpack and for backpack mods. And skins depends if you have unlock from ingame play / vendors plans / atoms shop

What you have is a small backpack. To obtain the large backpack you need to progress further into the tadpole and possum badge questline and challenges. (Check online for the tadpole and possum badge quest and how to quickly beat them)

In the quest you'll unlock the large backpack that you can add mods on it like high capacity, 90% weight reduction on food etc AND you can apply any skins you unlocked previously on your large one too.

Tadpole and possum badges are a type of currency you can redeem in a machine dispenser for unique clothes, flags and backpack mods and can be earned in challenges in your main menu's challenge section, daily quest from the two scout mr. handy and also doing the public event called campfire tales!

Hope this helps.

Early game as you level up a player knows by default how to craft a small backpack.
There are incremental increases that max out al level 50.
A player can keep making new backpacks as they level up to 50 to gain extra carry weight.
So right now you could go to an armour bench and craft a level 50 small backpack, apply your favourite skin to it and replace your existing backpack to gain some extra carry weight.
Then as has been pointed out take some Scout and Possum exams at the terminals, do some tasks and earn a bigger backpack to which you can also apply skins to and purchase mods for.

Thanks! Mission Back Upgrade commencing!
Large backpack can be crafted to carry 10 pounds per level +10 up to level 50 in 10 level increments. So at level 50+ it holds 60 pounds plus whatever mods you put on it.

Good luck buddy!
Backpacks can have have:
1. Skins
2. Flair
3. Mods

That's all these people had to tell you
I prefer my backpack to be unseen, it ruins the line of my suit! :steamhappy:

I've got a legacy backpack that has no flair slots. It's the only legacy I've ever owned... and it's useless...
