How does Glow (for Ghoul players) work?

First you drink a bunch of things your parents told you not to. Then walk into a giant microwave silo and pass out. After that you glow from being a garbage person. The more garbage, the stronger your glow. Some perk cards take advantage of glow. If you build round glow you can be a useful toxic avenger.

It's like a green second healthbar that goes over the first. The rads heal you, and when they overheal you, your green bar starts filling up. It's an "overhealing" mechanic.

And then certain ghoul perks spend glow.

Glow is like a Halo overshield that "regenerates" through radiation exposure... or consuming rads.

It is a duplicate of your health bar and therefore the maximum is affected by things like endurance (extra health) and the life giver perk (changes to these in a session can bug out your max glow...).

You only gain glow with radiation when at 100% health. You lose it when taking damage or using a glow perk.
Carry some toxic goo (from West Tek) or a gamma gun (shoot at your feet; level doesn't matter as all gamma guns have the same base amount of radiation damage) for an easy way to restore glow when out and about.
Acquire the ghoul Endurance perk "Glowing Gut" at its' max rank of 3. Collect Toxic Water (Infinite, Free) anywhere up North in the Toxic Wasteland area (I Fast Travel to Grafton Station). Assign a large quantity (I travel with 80) of Toxic Water to your favorites/hotkeys. In combat, as long as your health is 100%, you can consume the Toxic Water for +114 Glow when needed and remain "invulnerable" in combat as long as you're not tossed around. Or use it as a damage supplement.
you can also drink toxic water and with the right perk card restore 100s of rads in a single sip

Finding rads isn't much of an issue, like so much of this game there's an insane amount of resource but at least rads kind of fits the world.
