What is the purpose of Concentrated Fire now?
I see it's possible to aim limbs in VATS now, so why should one take Concentrated Fire perk at all? Or did they change the effects of that perk?

Concentrated fire still adds accuracy per shot, and actually increases damage now (it claimed it did before, but was bugged.) No longer needed if you were using it only for limb targeting, but it still has uses.
It can also assist in adding S.C.O.R.E. points e.g. targeting specific parts enemies bodies for damage e.g. cripple an enemy's head.

Concentrated fire is for vats builds. You build a character with horrible vats accuracy to take advantage of concentrated fire + 4 leaf clover so your first few shots will always miss but guarantee you 100% accuracy after your first crit and you become a crit machine. Gun-Fu is also better than Adrenaline now so no need to take that 5 point boat-anchor anymore.

Concentrated Fire is good for semi automatics as it adds 20% hit chance per shot. Bad for automatics as it only adds 2% per shot.

As lockwoodx mentioned 4 leaf clover excels with missed shots. But there is another bug at play.

Rapid fire weapons after a crit no longer miss... Therefore getting that first crit in an encounter is useful via... missing... Only a company like Bethesda could create a backwards gun play system like this...

Stares down the 60% damage boost on a 3* card.

Yep. Horrible for automatics. No reason to get a 60% damage boost. Who wants damage?

In all seriousness, I don't understand why people forget the damage portion of the card. Sure, it gives a lot less per-shot accuracy for automatics, but that's also because you are firing 5x faster. And because you fire so much, you get the damage boost faster.

Concentrated fire is one of the best damage per point cards for automatics in the game. AND it helps with VATS accuracy, especially at range, since that bonus is additive. It's still a really good card, even though it's no longer a requirement for limb targeting (and therefore VATS builds as a whole).
i love everyone picking different cards apart in here when we all really know its the commando and rifleman bloat cards that need the axe and their dmg needs to be baked into the weapons same with how science adds energy weapon dmg should of just buffed energy weapons

Because missing and using the 4 leaf clover crit bug on automatics will lead to better results.

Yeah, yeah it's relying on a bug... but until Bethesda fix it, it isn't players fault for using the tools as intended.

The bug is after that first crit every shot after will hit regardless of % shown.
