That makes a hella sense.
You have to have furious/onslaught perks, to make pistols do good damage. Found in the Agility perk section.

No.
Pistols had they're own Damage perks wich where removed and pistols got just an flat 60% damage buff for free in return.

oh nvm then, i barely got back to playing the game
i wish they would re-do the whole damage system, how does a .50 cal bullet fail to kill something in one shot, its practically an anti-material round, using the mg42 for example feels like im using a submachine gun, and then plasma rounds, by the very nature of them they should do way more damage than anything, i just dont get it, they nerf the guns/perks and make the enemies spongier every update

Yeah it's not a Realistic Shooter, it's a Fantasy Survival that has guns. A realism mode would be wildly cool like the fallout 4's hardcore mode.

the mg42 feels more usable than the .50 cal mg lol

would actualy be good change to make those perks work with every weapon depending on type of fire , offcourse they have to buff riffles and heavy weapons first , but let's be real it's 2 years work for bethesda.

The more things change, the less unique everything becomes.

Take this onslaught system for example. If you can crit every shot then every weapon plays the same. Pump action shotgun, semi auto rifles, revolver are all shoot, crit, game over.

What used to play as slightly different weapons are now all so powerful they play the same. The only reason to pick one over the other is aesthetics (though that may be important to some).

I personally hate these onslaught changes because of 1 particular reason, reverse onslaught. That inclusion alone means EVERY weapon benefits instead of only a few.

If onslaught was for automatics and say Bethesda worked on instigating for semi autos then there'd still be a choice with consequences.

This is why I'm actually worried if/when they tackle the other weapon perks. They'll no doubt make the game so generic that 1 build and legendary mods will work with every weapon. That is boring to me and will take away the time it took to specialise each of my characters.

eh i kinda like it cause more thing are becoming usable now, i dont exatcly know how they could balance the game, but i just wish everything felt unique in their own way but could still be usable

I think they should rework the weapon damage cards which come as 3x3 rank cards into one 5 rank card for each tbh, there isn't really a reason to have all those cards to get +60% (3x20%) damage other than to use up 9 perk cards slots.

A 5 rank perk card still uses up a large amount of perk points but also allows for a bit more flexibility/variety imo.

Even if they make it a 10% per rank, whilst lower than the potential 60% you can get it is still more than slotting 3x2 rank cards for 45% and would cost one point less.

Indeed, a 10mm pistol does more dmg than a fixer (both full upgraded and automatic, even without any legendary mod added), and a "Western" revolver outclasses most non-silenced semi rifles. How utterly pathetic!

Not to say that you can make them work without even using a perk, while you need to spend 9 points in Perception to have the rifles do ALMOST as much dmg as the pistols... Truly delectable performance for the gunslingers, to be honest....

Seriously, I´m glad I was saving resources for some weapon upgrades just when the patch hitted us, so I could just ignore the rifles and focus on the much more OP pistols. Can´t imagine the saltiness of those who spent thousands of caps and resources to trade for rifles that now are just sub-par :steamsad:
