Human

Pros:

*You don't have to eat babies anymore, its not like its their fault, they are rotskins afterall... I mean you can, but you don't have to

*You don't look like someone broiled cat puke basted rat guts in the sewers before lovingly smearing it on your face and body

*Full access to the games content, no need to play barbies dress up adventure to visit places

*Unyielding + Bloodied still the best... 4000 per supermutant easily achievable right now, I completed the scoreboard in about 1.5 hours of grinding over friday & saturday

*Not a ghoul

*Not subject to quite as many utterly game breaking bugs and issues {still however subject to a lot}

*Not everybody wants to kill you

Cons:

*You don't smell of putrid sardines left outside of a garbage dump in the hot Virginia sun... if that is what you are into perfume wise

*You aren't only able to speak sounds mocked from the cries of your innocent victims, which means your words have weight to them rather than just a sickening reenactment of that time you brutally murdered an entire village of kind and pure beings

*Your eyes are regular human eyes instead of the glowing ones

*Lower melee damage {pretty absurd how high ghouls melee can reach}, lower min/max ranged damage {very minimal difference}, absurd health pool of the ghouls not reachable {granted you can easily hit 1,000 health and functionally be immortal anyway}

*Less perk cards to pick from

*Completely rational dislike of the rotskin zombies running around

How many less is it?

And are you counting perks like ones to gain rad resistance...? Or ones to decrease rads from food...?

If you have completed the story quests, faction grind, and purchased most of the gold bullion items, you will rarely need the disguise.

There are a few perk cards which are human-only. None of them are as significant as the ghoul perk cards.

The low-health bloodied/unyielding build can only be done as a human. It is not advised to use it in raids. The damage dealt by bloodied is slightly behind ghoul builds with Overkill, in some situations.

Pros:
- Brotherhood sites are friendly. (they shoot ghouls on sight)
- Full access to all quests without having to mummify yourself.
- No CHA penalty or ghoul sanity mechanics.
- Can use perk cards that benefit from being well-fed and hydrated, or protect you from radiation.

Cons:
- Radiation is dangerous, lots of recovery spots for ghouls are stage hazards for humans.
- No health, melee, or SPECIAL from ghoul sanity.
- Can't use perk cards that benefit from being irradiated.

You can be more human than human.

I assume it's related to that little bar on the right of the hud. It's never run out for me. I'm still not sure what it does.

If you don't have Action Diet, you have to take a chem every five minutes to keep it filled. Let it fall and you'll start losing STR, PER, HP and eventually AP. And if it ever hits empty, you'll get a massive +150% buff to melee damage at the cost of all your CHA and a -300% penalty to ranged accuracy.

There are also two perk cards that take effect when empty - Feral Presence and Feral Rage. The first reduces enemy damage by up to -30% on hit, and the second cuts the glow (rad counter for ghouls) cost of other perk cards by up to half.

No disguise, but that's only relevant to a few locations. If you haven't bought the bullion vendors out then maybe don't ghoul. Otherwise this update took the player from very OP to silly deity ghoul or not.
The advantages of being a normal human is that your existence is a mockery of the freak show that passes for normal life in post-nuke clown world

Look in the in-game help menu. There is an entry for the feral meter. It says exactly what it does for each threshold. You generally want to be full or completely empty. Melee benefits the most from being completely empty and ranged is best full.

I checked, yeah, I guess I got action diet. I think I just took all the perks that were even remotely related to my build without even really thinking about how they worked.
