New weapon mods and accessories for Fallout 76
I’ve been playing this game for awhile and I find that I can have as much if not more fun on the BS app shooter games on my phone if only bc of the enormous amount of different weapons and modifications and accessories of said weapons on the jinky little app games. Why aren’t there more different looking silencers on the game and more mods? Especially with paint schemes? But not only that why are they so few ways to modify your weapon and why is it such a time consuming fight just to acquire new mods and stuff?

Because only one thing matters with VATS and that is AP consumption per shot. All other stats are useless in VATS and only for free aim.

Free aim is doable, but it's such a drop in DPS from VATS crits it isn't the 'smart' way to play.

This makes the -AP mods more or less mandatory. You'll mod all of your weapons the same with reflex sights, aligned long barrels and aligned/forceful stocks. Nothing else makes a difference.

However if recoil was factored into the AP cost then there'd be some variation. You'll still have a 'best in slot' but now a true or stabilised may be better that straight out aligned.

I usually don't care much and often use weapon mods based on look. For example the Handmade rifle can be made to look like an AKS-74U or SVD. Pump action shotguns I like the medium barrel as the long looks goofy.

Then there are skins that change the look entirely such as Tropic Lightning or Screaming Eagle.

But, yeah... most of the weapons are ugly and boring as they end up with the same mods...
