Silo Insanity
I went to do some drops as always and I found a silo with deadly assaultrons that would kill me over and over instantly. I tried to battle through it, but then the countdown froze. Hopefully, it was temporary as It would be real challenging under those conditions.

Seems random. I've had silos where barely anything comes out to challenge the launch, and other where it's a nonstop stream of robots in a constant swarm. I've had some with all the turrets, some with no turrets. No clue if this randomness is by design or by glitch, but it sure keeps you guessing.

Yeah, thats the norm. I noticed if 2 people or more are in the silo they will up the robots, but this was different. The Assaultrons were the most deadly ones i've ever encountered. Its rare that I abandon a launch, but thats what happened.

OK I tried again and it was no fluke. They turned up the heat big time in the silo. I was just like OK lets play rough and got into my power armor with a vampire auto axe. Waves of deadly assaultrons and robots were cut down, but when I dropped on Nuka World, I had to kill the beast myself with one feisty level 78 dude :D

Just did my second silo yesterday..... well, technically third..... I did a "test run" on a custom world..... but my second real one.

My test run was insane with the assultrons and robo brains and had me seriously considering tapping out on doing one solo.

My first real one tho was a whole lot easier. I did die twice on the way to the control room due to 2 assultrons hitting me at the same time from two different sides, but otherwise was not at all bad.

My second one was only slightly worse in the amount of total robots but still not horrible and thankfully I still only ended up dead twice and both on the way to the control room again, and both to surprise assultrons conveniently.

I don't recommend doing silos before you unlock the legendary perk that allows you to recharge your fusion core and health when you get energy damage. Once you do, you can't die in the bunker anymore and you can solo it easily. Also with hacking level 3 you can disable all the turrets and some of the robots. You can kill robots really easily if you target their combat protocol thingy in vats, especially with the plasma caster, it's pretty much a one shot kill.

I've done this hundreds of times possibly, I went into silos that were super hot. The devs must have turned up the heat in there for sure. I used to go in wo power armor, but now I must be fully armored and use a vampire auto axe to survive the waves.
Silos are a joke if you make a stealth build

you dont need to do any of the silo mechanics; you can glitch past any door with photo mode.

or just use a mine to clip into the wall straight into the lauch room...

I do my runs for robot atoms. It's more strategy than bull rushing to launch a nuke.

Not a glitcher. I remember how the events in RE Revelations 2 were destroyed by glitchers who ruined the fun for those who wanted to take the challenge for real. They pause glitched and map voided us out of 1st place finishes every week, and thats what makes me avoid the method. I would like to see if anyone has had an easy go of dropping a nuke lately, or if like me, they noticed a lot of new heat. I guess that was the purpose of posting.

My first silo the other day was a leisurely stroll.

And a tip for all bots: aim for the combat inhibitors. Break those and they fight each other.

people glitch thru the silo because the event mechs for it are tedious and crap.

you still fight the robot "waves" if you can call them that.
i may suggest looking at your build more closely.

I breeze through usually without cheating, like 7 or 8 minutes. I'll try to make this clear... I usually consider robot resistance to be almost non existent, but as of last night, it was fierce and beyond anything I've ever seen. Everytime I log on there are no red circles and no one in the silos, so I suspect that they buffed the silos considerably.

I did 4 today (solo. no vats, no PA, gauss shotgun + nukanade build, level 450). It seems in my case, its just been more buggy overall, but not really much by way of extra enemies. That sounds like fun actually hahaha maybe i'll get lucky and roll the endless assaultron wave one of these days
