Encountered my first cheater

476 hours in and I encountered my first cheater, he got me good too. I had the idea to put my camp not too far away from the Charleston Landfill workshop so I could rake in the junk while messing about at my camp and this cheater was able to attempt to take over the workshop, which allowed him to then attack my camp and destroy my things. He was using a gatling gun with an extremely high rate of fire and appeared as level 0 on the player thingy he was able to kill me instantly. Luckily he only managed to destroy one of my vendors before I swapped out my camp and left the server. Yes I'm filling out an official report but I don't think it will do anything, his name was something weird like server.overload or something and he appeared level 0 so I feel like he's hidden himself somehow. But yeah, if you take workshops, be aware that his can happen to you!

Question about this, this is actually the first time I've encountered pvp involving the workshops, if I'm far away from the workshop when someone contests it, can they travel however far away I am and attack me? Or do I need to be near the workshop to be hostile to them?

If my camp was on the other side of the map from the workshop, could he have still contested the workshop and traveled to my camp and attacked it? Or would he have been out of range to be hostile to me?

There will always be cheaters in every single MMO / Online game. Mostly are like ADHD xbox alike kids caus they want everything whtin a second instead fighting for the things.

I mean i see level 29K ~ 32K in the game and i report them immediately caus that level can only be obtained by cheating.

Just report cheaters and then move on. Best way to handle it imo.

Totally legitimate for players to have 1,000,000 treasure maps in their vendor and 10,000,000+ rare junk in their scrapbox, and 1,000,000 of all the rarer ammo types in the ammobox, 100,000+ magazines or bobbleheads
Totally legitimate for players to have unyielding power armour
Totally legitimate for players to have matching union assassins, cold resist, sentinel PvP armour (32+ years to roll that at 4 hours a day)
Totally legitimate for players to have other non tradable items like that too
Totally legitimate when players exploit infinite junk / ammo / magazine / etc things
Totally legitimate for players to have blueprints of the presents and other seasonal drops and can produce tens of thousands in a click

Bugfesta doesn't care when players do actual exploits... would be so incredible easy for them to run a script to check numbers and when its absurd

ex. 10k+ level, millions of stable flux, hundred thousand bobbleheads, etc just out and out ban the cheats or wipe the offending items from existence

but they won't because MOST of the people exploiting actual issues use the pay 2 win feature and are thus not someone they wanna remove and a few would have traded for their impossible numbers of stuff

just when crybullies whine about visual but virtual non issues long after a myriad of fixes made them minor minor things do they do anything... anything non visible they don't care about

Not always agree with you for sure but i get your point, Bethesda do not care about it. Do play the game from day 1 and still there are cheaters.

In short? I keep reporting cheaters no matter the kind of cheat.

Wish Call of Shame did a little research of Fallout 76 but hey... they are busy to catch cheaters in COD-WZ.

Some peoples interpretation of what is legitimate is questionable. To get the rate of fire the same it requires using a glitch to make the rate of fire faster than it is intended to fire. Exploiting a glitch for an advantage is cheating.

You can clearly see him use both vats at the slow rate of fire and shooting while aiming at the increased rate of fire

extra fire speed while aiming on the mouse is a thing in this game, effectively gives 1.5x fire rate probably because the game doesn't track the gun firing for zoomed out and zoomed in as the same cooldown

so shoot, zoom in on your target and you will shoot immediately again... perfectly legitimate for a player who is using manual aiming

Actually the glitch can be used in vats too as long as you glitch correctly it will stick onto vats until you drain it then you would have to do the glitch again.. Ya I do know about the extra 25% a very small % of increase fire rate even in vats it doesn't shot that fast without draining it in 4-5 shots instantly even if you pop a AP regen it will maybe give you up too 8 shots total...

That guy shot a total of 20 times in less then 1 second and if you look close enough you can see his arms doing a dance just before he enters vats like he was aim then not aiming really fast. Also no this glitch was never patched you can still very much do it with a micro as long as launcher doesn't detect it..

this here shows what 25% looks like and that doesn't match up I could show you the glitch video but then I might get banned for showing a exploit tutorial... either way believe or don't I don't really care.

I take it the ADS spam isn't well known.

If you spam ADS while firing any weapon (like spamming both mouse buttons) you will rapid fire like a machine gun. Game bug.

ya that was weapon hack they are not very common because bethesda will ban them very fast anyway because the game will detect it.. Its all the people joining up from the tv show getting bored and abusing exploits and hacks just like when the game first came out they will get bored because they get banned and it will stop for a while till a new one comes up again.

The name spoof is still an easy thing to do that anyone could do it.

weapon hacks been around for a long time bethesda wont ban them

Sounds like you should follow yoir advice its been common knowledge about workshop pvp radius, its been in the game since the beginning, and your just coming off as a whiner lvl 100plus who got dumpsteres by a lvl 37, sorry your foodie build didnt let you grier the guy

You entered the workshop while it was contested, doing this means YOU attacked him and once you trigger that PvP flag you are fair game to kill

Once you PvP someone they have 1.5 minutes after you death where they can destroy your camp

you are just lucky he didn't tag you run to your camp and level the whole thing because he could have

Bro, like legit, hes not complaining about Workshop PvP or PvP in general, but about that the dude who attacked his Workshop was indeed cheating, thats it, stragely there are alot of poeple in her that are defending the cheater makes you all look like one aswell.

I've only been playing the game a little over a month and don't know absolutely everything about it. Cheater in Fallout 76? Lol You must be very attached to those 2 Cloth that you drop from your inventory upon death. In the real survival games when you die you lose everything, including your base, and here you lose like literally nothing at all.
