Reporting to Cryptos

I found a discussion on this, but it didn't answer my question.

I shot all the ghouls in the Riverside Manor, but the door to the basement won't open. I've gone through all the manor to see if there's a trigger to open it, and can't find one.

I tried going the back way, through the blue access bins, and can't get past the security beams.

When I last played, I noticed the door to the basement closed as I came out. Could this be a bug? It looks like I can't go back to a previous save, so I can try it again.

Anyone have anything I can try to fix this??

You have to wear the vail as it's the key to open the door.
