[Spoilers] Trade Secrets bugged

I'm stuck. I've tried everything. I've read through the walk through's and followed them. No matter what I do, my quest status remains at "Search Hornwright HQ", with the quest marker pointing to the elevator. I've made the elevator card several times as well as gone up to the top floor. Talked to the robot which talked about the fuel and beacons, and I have access to 2 of the 3 grids, but that's it. All the while the quest marker doesn't change, nor does the status. I've literally dumped several hours into trying to complete this. Help.

Just had that problem.. joined group and used many emotes standing in front of the elevator. Placed my tent near by so someone could FT to it. A very fine dude showed up (knew of my problem and it an old bug) ... and let me in the elevator, quest continued normally then. Try it?

I dunno anyone who plays this game. Not to mention trying to communicate that to a random group would be near impossible, but thanks.

Not sure, been awhile, but you get a Hornwright key at the Estate. Might there be a quest indicator location there on your map. Sometimes you have to try the key slot before the quest changes to find the key.

Given that, you will find a bunch of quests buggy though. I have completed them all more than once so it can be done. If having a problem search the internet for the quest your on. Many walkthroughs are out there.

I have done this one 5 times with different toons. Everytime I did it it was the same, can't get to the right door. It has something do do with the way you choose ther button on the elevator. (there are 2 different elevators) Everytime I had to log off and choose different buttons. Some how it seemed to work after running up and down 50 times. Seems I always found it on youtube video.

Agreed, probably the best way is to watch a Youtube video for the quest and do what they did.

Keep hopping servers and don't join any teams.

Some quests bug out to the leaders status of the quest, or only allow 1 per server so you need a 'fresh' server and be first to door (private servers can help here).

Yea so really, the quest proper was working fine, the waypoints, updates, and notifications were not. Following a youtube walkthrough step by step I was able to complete Motherlode. It was only after that, did the quest indicator and waypoints finally update. Thanks for the suggestions all.
