How to spawn the survival tent map?
lucg Oct 13, 2022 @ 12:04pm
You have to open the dial (assigned keys) then press "T" key ... . Ta-Dam ... !!!
SerialGamer Oct 13, 2022 @ 12:29pm
You have to bring up the weapon wheel interface to see what key to press to place the tent. That's admittedly an odd place to put it. It would make more sense to have it somewhere in the Pip-Boy interface or the camp placement interface.

On the 12 slots of my weapon wheel, I have favorite 11 weapons, and the camera that set itself automatically! Do I have to unfavorite weapons to see the tent?

Nope, it's a tab (Press T key) down the window. But you can probably (have to verify this) assign the Survival Tent to a key, too ... .

thanks, I can spawn a camp! But it seem a lot less good then what i tought. I tought I can spawn a survival tent, and after open the the map, and put it anywhere on the map, close to the missions I have to do, and just fast travel there! But, it don't seem that way, I can just put the survival tent at the place I am right now. Meaning, I still have to walk, or pay to fast travel to go do my missions! Is it that way, or I am not doing it correctly?

Put the tent where you are so you can access the stash/scrap box and depending on the model of tent, the crafting bench.

Then if you need to go someplace else, you can come back to that location for free.

For example, there are some quest lines that you start at A, go to B, go back to A, then go to C, etc. Put your tent at A, and you can FT back there for free.

I can do the same with my camp! and iy cost just 20 caps to move a camp. And it is better than the tent! I tought the tent was for moving on the map right away!

I like to put my tent down somewhere to save me caps when fast travel. I tend to have mine in the ash heap for resource farming.

A tent is useful when you are overencumbered and can't fast travel. Junk can be sent home with a scrap kit, but if you have tons of non-junk items like weapons, armor, misc, etc. and don't want to trek all the way to the nearest stash box in a train station, then the only way is to bring up a tent and unload some of your stuff.

Not everyone has an easy to move camp. Most of the time you can't, or it gets blueprinted weird, or people don't want to have to rebuild all the time. Tent is much easier, no brainer there, except I don't like paying for the fallout 1st cost.

Edit: It really is just a way to dump and store your junk fast.

Also, many people have been having that camera problem since the Pitt update, you need to finish the quest called "Bucket List" to make it stop doing that or it will keep on placing itself in your favorite wheel.

^This, although I had the exact opposite problem as the camera kept removing itself from my favourites until I completed the quest.
