I did reboot, I got into Fallout 76, lost the use of my keyboard, go figure that one out. I rebooted again. No keyboard but used the on-screen one to log into PC. Rebooted again. I have a keyboard.
Everything was fine till I touched Fallout 76. My first attempt after a reboot the program froze at the opening TV screen. It does this allot. Then I got in but my PC started falling apart. Two more reboots later I have my keyboard back.
Done that does not work...
There should be a box to check on task manager that states "always on top" in the options menu, Fallout should not block it then. Also you could hit the windows button and at the bottom press "task view" and open the screen not running fallout. From that screen you can go to task manager and close fallout there.
#1 starting up Fallout the game freezes at the TV screen. This is an old one, happens often, and you bring up Task Manager to kill the game and start over. Task Manager will tell you the game is frozen. You may need to try several times to get it up and running but normally the next restart gets you in..
#2 is new and you get past the TV screen, hit a any button to bring up the login, and the screen freezes but Fallout is not frozen. Task Manager will tell you that the game is operating OK but for some reason the screen has disconnected from the game. I managed to reboot several times and to get past the login screen which was freezing up.
In my case I suspect it was a Windows 11 update combined with Nvidea update that caused the problem with #2 on my previous post. #1 has been with me for over a year...
