Can you build a Shelter but NOT have a CAMP?

I like to feel sneaky and hidden. Could I just have a shelter with the entrance being hidden in some shrub or whatever? Thanks.

You need a camp to have the shelter in, so you kinda have to have a camp, even if its just the shelter

Yes, you can use the underground glitch to get under the map and build, the entrance can be reallllll sneaky

Yes, you can find some rare areas where you have caves and you can get into the cave and build

Yes, you can hide your camp from everyone on the server (pretty sure you need to block them all, but maybe a setting lets you do it) on the map

Nope. You need to pick a spot to place down your camp and then place down the shelter. I don't know if you can lock it so random players can't enter it. The shelter is pretty neat but I wish it allowed us to make more space for it. Either pay by 1k caps or gold bullion plans for extra space.

You can place the shelter entrance under water in some places.

Your camp only shows on map if you have a powered vendor, until next patch anyway.

You must have a camp device placed before you can place a shelter entrance.

You don’t have to have anything else though.

The utility shelter entrance is a hatch in the ground that I have seen people hide. The other shelter entrances are doors, some small, and one ginormous.

If you wanted to use the doors and not have a building of some sort, you would just have a door standing in the world.

If you join a team your teammates will see your map icon. Nobody else will unless you have a powered vendor.

Technically, no - your Shelter is a CAMP element. In practice, yes- you can have a CAMP containing nothing more than the CAMP machine and your Shelter entrance.

Some functions of CAMPS are unavailable in Shelters though, such as displays, crops and vendors.
