Ores not respawning?
Hello everyone!
I searched about this on google and forums but didn't really find an answer, so i hope you can help me.

How long does it take for ores to respawn? More specifically Iron Ores.
I mined iron ores with my excavator armor and they didn't respawn with many server hops not even in private worlds. I played for 10 more hours after I mined them but they're still not there.

Thanks in advance. :)

Doing an internet, people seem to be of the opinion that it's between 12-20 hours, with more people leaning on the 17+ hours end of the range.

The key to getting items to respawn is to pick up other items in the world. Every character has a list of the last 200 items you've picked up. It takes a lot longer for items to respawn if that item is still in your recently picked items. The trick is to go someplace that has a bunch of stuff, and pick it up. That will flush your list.

Just to add to the previous post:
Try Summerville, the first house has around 200 burnt books, once you loot them log out and login.
The respawn is not tied to time.

Err why iron ore? Steel is ridiculously easy to get.

Smelting iron ore for steel is not time well spent. You need acid to smelt it on top of the time collecting it.

Do Line in the sand or Collision course events. Or any event where you can kill loads of enemies who will drop guns. Line in the sand is probably the best one.

Tag as many enemies as possible and collect all loot at the end and equip the scrapper perk to get more materials from scrapping weapons and armour. It is extremely rare that I do not walk away from one line in the sand with less than 700 steel.

Plus I am getting heaps of xp while "collecting" my steel and there is no need to spend acid to smelt the ore into steel, as it is already done for me.

The only ore i would even entertain the idea of collecting is lead, but even lead is easy to find if you know the places that have heaps of tin/aluminium cans and children's toys.

Gold, silver, and black titanium seem decent to mine as well, though those nodes are far rarer.

Like said most others aren't really worth the acid and inventory weight.
