Christmas Scorched farming in the wasteland questions

It says that from "now" until January 4th 2021 we can get "presents" off of Scorched in the wasteland. I've killed over 30 scorched and not a single present has dropped. So I have some questions.

1. Is the event bugged or not fully implemented yet?
2. Where is a good spot or way to farm for these presents?
3. How rare are the drop chances?

They will always be legendary too

Any place they normally spawn there is just a random chance one or more will spawn with them...

the amusment parks spawn them, morgontown airport to name a few

Alrighty that's where I was going to farm them, but never saw any in elf suits or whatever. xD Thanks for the help.

Do the line in the sand or surface to air events, there are tons of the christmas scorched that spawn to attack you, easily 10-15 presents during the line in the sand unless the other players one-shot them and steal the kill.

Ouch yeah that is about how it goes when I do it and higher levels are there. They just spam hacked weapons or auto grenaders and 1 shot everything. -_-

Do the surface to air then, it's not a "free to travel" event with the exclamation mark so people usually ignore those.

EDIT: I guess Distant Thunder event should work too, but I haven't seen it yet so I can't tell for sure.

I don't recall ever seeing a surface to air event o.o

This one: https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Surface_to_Air . Maybe you need to do the "old" BoS questline to see it?
It spawns randomly at one of the brotherhood forward stations/firebases (the "star" locations in the cranberry bog region), there's a rocket turret that you need to protect from the scorched attack, and if it gets destroyed you need to repair it. It will aggro the nearby scorchbeast(s) too, so be prepared.

That's... quite a route :) Wouldn't they respawn by the time you go half-way? And you could also server-hop, actually, that's a nice idea. I'm still trying to locate a couple of PA mods, so by hopping around the camden park I could check the vendor for the mods and hopefully get a christmas scorched in the process. Thanks for the idea.

thats the route i plan to try i presume the youtuber tried it on pts the events been on there running for awhile

I did some server hopping today at Camden Park, 5 times or so, ~10 scorched each time, only once I got the Christmas scorched. At the same time the scorched horde in the forest event produced three. So I guess the chance to encounter a special scorched is much higher during the events.

That's my conclusion as well. Also seems Santatron farms out more gifts than farming scorched do no joke.
