Every legendary perk requires an increasing amount of perk points to level up. First rank is 50 points, second is 100 points and so on. You gain perk points only by reaching level 50 (one time), gaining from scoreboard (1x25 and 1x50) each season or from scrapping redundant perk cards (2 perk points per base card). So you can do the math on what you need for your own build. Swapping out legendary perks costs 1 perk point. So levelling up once per day will net you 2 perk points to cover that if you're maxed out and wanting to swap.
Levelling up becomes increasingly slower because of an increase in required EXP per level. So at higher levels (post level 200) it becomes mandatory to really stack up the EXP and INT buffs in order to level up for casual play. You can of course go brain dead at Westtek, but honestly I rather eat my socks. For me, if I play, I want to enjoy myself.
