Are private servers free yet?
Don't want to pay $12 a month just to play with friends without worrying if a location we're going to is already clear of enemies and looted. This game is not a good mmo, other people randomly running around looting everything just ruins the co-op experience.

Yes. Just use a friends server. Then its free for you.

or just server hop, looted areas really arent as bad as youre making it out to be, it usually isnt an issue for me, if an area is looted you just load into a new server

That's because it isn't an MMO unless Battlefield is as well. As to the OP, you would be hard pressed to find a company that will host your private server's on their equipment with out paying for it. The cleared areas aren't that prevalent. Since I started playing again about 2+ weeks ago, I've only had it happen twice so far. Not saying it won't happen or can't happen more but it might be good to try it out.

Then they shouldn't have a system that requires them to host. P2P connections have been a thing since borderlands 1. We don't need this always online garbage that has the potential to shut down randomly if the devs ever decide to abandon the game.

It's a live service game. That's how they work. They control the servers so they control the multiplayer aspect. If you add P2P, that would require either the server code being released in the client or the server code being released as a separate file, like Minecraft. Always online doesn't equal MMO. Diablo 3 has a offline single player mode but none of those characters can be used in multiplayer nor would that system help you since you want to play with friends. Hundreds of multiplayer games don't allow P2P, especially ones with microtransactions or/and host all multiplayer on their own servers.

I like how 'live service game' became a mainstream phrase. It's just an online game. P2P function should be available but it's not because they want to make money off a game you already have to buy for no rational reason. They spent more resources making the new worlds system instead of just letting people play offline or p2p co-op.

No rational reason for a company to make more money off an always online game???????? "Live service game" isn't a mainstream phrase. It's the difference between "just an online game" and an "always online game." There is a difference. I don't know their coding abilities but I'm fairly confident in saying it was massively easier for them to add Worlds than it would be for them to essentially redo all of their net code. I'd honestly be willing to bet money on that. P2P defeats the purpose of always online nor does it work for every game. You're asking to play an always online game, offline. That would require them to rewrite quite a bit not mention you wouldn't have access to atom shop items, scoreboard, events, and nothing you do will carry over, ever. If that's what you're waiting for, I feel it may be a while.

I don't care about the always online portion of the game. It's a bad 'mmo' and shouldn't be always online anyway. That's my opinion and my request of bethesda if they care about their fanbase that's been playing all their offline singleplayer games since elder scrolls arena. The online for this game was hamfisted and a waste of resources on their part to even host servers instead of just going with a p2p system because not everybody enjoys playing multiplayer with randoms, griefers and overleveled elitists.

Ah, so you're bringing up the three year old argument that this should have been Fallout 4 with co-op. Sorry. That isn't this game. Hasn't been since the first time this was brought up three years ago and, chances are, won't be, ever, in the future. If you really want them to hear this, go to their discord and talk directly to them. Or maybe on reddit? Doubt anything will change but you do have those options. They don't check here and they closed their official forums since they said it was easier to just use discord and reddit.

I dont want fallout 4 with co-op, the story in that game was trash. 76 at least has a sense of freedom albeit ruined by random dudes in power armor running around clearing everything ahead of you forcing you to logout or go somewhere else.

Sorry. I didn't literally mean Fallout 4 game. I meant the game play of it. I'm not sure if you were "around" when Fallout 76 was first released on the Bethesda launcher but a lot of people hated the game because it was always online and not the co-op game they wanted. They wanted a game like Fallout 4, not a direct copy, but with co-op. A co-op Fallout game. As for random people clearing things ahead of you, it has only happened to me twice in the last 2+ weeks. I just fast traveled to some place else to get the right mobs though so it wasn't much of an issue. It's annoying, for sure, but it's not as prevalent as you seem to think. Not saying you shouldn't be upset about it but if you haven't played the game recently, it might be good to try and see for yourself. Maybe you won't run into that issue when you play. Might be worth a shot.

and about it shuting down randomly now ya talking out ya ass there even if the next game came out this one would still be online for a few years after that and thats a long way away yet
just because you dont want to pay for it dont make it wrong and you right

p2p is fine, tell your friend(s) to get better internet
relying on dedicated servers is dumb because the moment a developer decides to stop supporting the game and the servers shut down you are left with nothing
if you pay for fallout 1st just to play alone I don't respect you or your opinions
