Tadpole badges
I'm disappointed that the badges are nearly impossible to solo. I like to play solo and kind of resent the fact I'm forced to play in a group to attain a certain reward.

Hi, you must be new. Playing in a group here doesn't really mean anything beyond the bonuses granted by the bonds created within the said group. Until late December of last year, I had no idea about anything related to Fallout 76, I had no idea how the groups work. When I joined, I thought that people actually must cooperate in order to play and finish the quests and challenges. Currently my character level is 132 and during my time in this game I realized that those times when I actually got to play with other people are very rare. If you don't have a stable team of friends you play with, you literally have to become a stalker to actually be around other players for a while. That means those challenges where you have to revive another player might be a little bit tricky, but trust me when I say that those are not really the hardest thing of this part of the game. You can and you WILL play solo most of the time even as a part of a group.

You join a group only for the duration of completing the selected event - which might take 1 minute or at most 10 minutes. Such as take a photo in a group or kill 25 creatures in a group. Once complete you leave the group and are solo again. Pretty easy to do, no commitment needed.

I appreciate the feed back!

most badgees are easy soloable, the only one that needs a cooperating victim is the one where you need to revive someone in water.

encryptid event. there is a pond there... many players get downed in it it counts to the badge requirement.
theres another challenge for swimming... hang out up there and see if any other badge seekers want to trade revives. couple of other ways to get the badge, also the mirelurk lake event. lots of water and maybe a player will go down. especially if the queen shows up. if you can speak in game it would help to ask if anyone wants to help during the event.

spruce knob lake is another spot many people visit for reputation challenges. taking pictures.
again ability to speak in game helps a lot with this challenge. i did it solo. with no speaking in game at the encryptid event. getting revived and reviving in the same event :104::VBOY:

Umm, going through these tadpole challenges is mostly useful for low level characters, so that they can get the best backpack asap, but encryptid event is anything but a safe place for low level characters which is why even high level characters get downed there so easily in the first place. Much easier way is to team up with another player from the same group, follow them until they die and revive them. That's what I did.

Reviving someone is literally the only thing you'll ever have to do involving other players when doing Tadpole badges, every thing else is solo work. Either revive someone at a popular end game event or use voice chat and ask some random if they mind "dying" for you... a large fall off a cliff or something while you wait at the bottom usually does it. If you ask a high level player they'll know what it's for since they'll have had it too.

@Amana what was unclear at the words "cooperating victim" ?
i mean hey you wrote a novel to "counter" my statement with tons of ideas that only cement it instead

Tadpole Badges
Easy
Archer - crossbow Toxic Valley Pioneer Scout Camp
Entomologist - camera from "bucket list" quest
Herpetologist - camera from "bucket list" quest
Mammalogist - camera from "bucket list" quest

Medium
Swimmer - With a partner reviving someone is the easiest of the easy, without it's total RNG.
Hunter - killing things with specific weapons.
Athlete- Camp Venture athletics course has a jumping wall.

Hard
Medic - requiers the stimpack diffuser a rare drop from project paradise.
Cook - Needs the Butchers Bounty Perk Card (total RNG) to farm scorch beasts for three pieces of meat. You can use butchers bounty to search other peoples scorch beat kills for meat.
Codebreaker - you have to launch a nuke.

Honestly I am a little annoyed that Cook and Medic both need rare drops as I long ago finished the other tasks. That a perk can fix cook is good but getting the right card is a RNG roll in and of itself.

Most everyone can get the "Easy" ones no problem as they play (dead creatures count for pictures), the "medium" ones can be tricky for a lot of people because of various performance issues with the game, and the "Hard" ones you might never earn unless you specifically grind for them.

Just started making a run at the tadpole badges and a bit annoyed the "Hard" ones all have end game requierments.

Burned some caps and did the ologist badges in a couple hours.......critter photos are basically the only reason to EVER do the VOX quest which is super annoying.

Join a casual group. All you do is share XP and some caps. You can do events and daily ops with them but that is your choice. Beyond that there really isn't anything you are forced to do. More benefits than negatives about it.

Each level lets you pick a perk card of your choice. Each perk has a level requirement, but once you've reached that, it's always available in the level-up "Pick-A-Perk".

Didn't actually see it until lvl50, and didn't start the badge run until just after that....which was annoying. Also it apparently auto-procs now on a kill instead of just letting you search. Guess to many people were scavenging off other peoples kills?
