Second trip at my Max 880 caps 50 supplies, and all we do is RUN after the cow.
Seriously its CRAP.
My first two experiences with the new system was not fun either.
First was just small spawn of four enemies once every five minutes? A massive waste of time.
Second time anything that spawned did so deep in far left or right of the caravan in the forest so you could not see it anyway, and one hit players made sure you'll never touch the enemies even on the rare occasion there is enough of them. =p
I really just do not understand why Beth will not give people what we need. As a new player I can see clear as day we need a cap uncap limit, and more 'huge waves of enemies' events. Not whatever this bs theme of barely getting spawns is.
And I sent them fruit baskets that contained potatos and vodka instead of fruit. They must have had a Russian dev working for them at the time, as here we are.
Don't blame Bethesda. Blame Potato, and blame the Russian's love of good vodka - no, it wasn't the cheap stuff, thank you.
sent me. Crypto and Carrot soup maybe, just maybe after my friend tried the soup first. On second thought-Crypto only will do fine. Maybe flowers also-NO ORCHIDS.
-Moooo.. wooo... Weee hhavve a pooblic ivent "follow the cow", lez maik whole patch about it. U.. Me?! No, you have 2 weeks to ♥♥♥ up with idea! Go go! *falls unconscious under the desk*
Second, I'm not touching this for now until the next maintenance when hopefully they will have patched some of the nonsense that people have been dealing with.
1- You should be able to choose the route and destination. Different routes give different Rewards.
2- You shouldn't have to "Join" your own Caravan and have to FT to it.
3- It shouldn't start immediately when you accept the Job, but rather on a Countdown timer like every other Event (waiting for other Players to join).
4- Caravan Mob spawns should scale to the amount of Players in the Caravan. If more join, more Mobs. If some leave during, the spawn reduces.
5- Why only Caravans in Skyline Valley? Who lives there that needs this stuff? Caravans should be anywhere in Appalachia. (or in a whole new Zone)
6- Before Bethesda implemented Caravans they should have fixed the escort mechanic because it's just as broken as any other escort mission.
And I know "Caravans!" might have sounded good in someones head, but following a cow and protecting it from waves of enemies is not as exciting as you would think.
I'd rather do "Distinguished Guests" over and over.
They literally just took "Free Range" and made it a Player triggered Event with 1 cow instead of 3.
At least "Free Range" gives a variety of locations and better Monsters, but it's a boring Event too and one I tend to skip when it shows up.
There is 1 special weapon. some Camp decorations and some other stuff, but you have to do hundreds of Caravans to get anything good.
In a recent interview the lead dev wanted the Brahmin to get distracted during the journey... they would wander off to eat grass, get scared or stuck etc.
I suspect someone had dreams of Rawhide, the TV show. Having adventures along the way of a cattle drive, much more in the style of a Fallout game.
We got... a long boring walk...
Hmm... RnGesus has forsaken you sir. While I must say they are quite boring after a few I have not experienced any of the other issues you are seeing.
I do the large runs, over 1100 caps solo, never had a caravan bug out or mission fail. They also don't take anywhere near 30 minutes, that's just the total amount of time you have to complete it.
Some tips:
1. Like some mothers I know you must keep smacking that cows bottom so it keeps up the boogy.
2. Gid Gud
Escort quests don't appeal to me so therefor I am not partaking in it.
