Scrapping for learning legendary mods or obtaining them.
Guys, Come on bro. 10% ---> Go to 20% Please
I Just Scrapped all my 13 or 15 3stars for Eviction Notice
I didnt even get a mod for any of them.
I Love the event when people help, But whats the point of the event if I'm
not obtaining any benefits from it..

I can help you all visualize this change better.
No you are not suppose to get what you want from a ton of drops in one event.
You'll 'possibly' get what you desire after like 100 events with those kind of rare drops.
It's 1% plan -1.5% mod box is my understanding. Please feel free to correct me I'm pretty new.

Think this through.

There are something like 100 legendary effects. You want to be able to get a mod or plan for just 13-15 scraps? How long would it take you before you knew them all? Then what?

It’s set up as 1% for learning and 1.5% (roughly 1:67) for getting a box mod, and even that might be too “easy”.

I learned my 30th plan today. Don’t know about the box mods, but I’ve bought a bunch of those, too. I’ve sold A BUNCH of the more desirable ones that I can craft, and have probably dropped 8-10 into gear.

That’s all in, what, 3 weeks of the new system?

If you brought back 15 3-stars from Eviction Notice, the odds say you would LIKELY get 0 from them. Do that same thing twice, and the odds say 1 free box mod. Do it three times, and the odds say maybe 1 learned and another free mod.

Add in all the playing you do between when EN pops, and you’re at several learned and several more for free in just a week or so of an hour or two per day.

As much as I’d like a couple of the plans I’m still listing after, I gotta admit that they probably should have cut the odds in half… maybe more.

Zekrom9000 is apparently the Indonesian spelling of Veruca Salt.

Really?
Are you sure you’re scrapping them and not scripping them?
If so, that’s epically bad luck.

If you figure that those legendaries had an average of 2 stars, that’s 1,000 tries at a 1:100 and 1:67 jackpot.

Did you piss off the RNG? 😂
My main has 8 plans and my second 5. Both have from 5-8 box mods each but have used a few.

The % has to be 1% or something painfully low. I've done 100+ and only got 1.

I think the % might be even lower then 1% as a 2-3 star gets a roll for each effect so that's 100+ with 2-3 star's in among them.

I think they need to tweek the % up a bit, it's a great concept but I can't see to having much impact. It's painful RNG on top of painful RNG.
Mooman Sep 29, 2024 @ 6:30pm
There's a BIG elephant in this room and that is trusting that the RNG system used is actually 'fair'.

Regardless of the 1% chance this game has a flawed RNG system that often gets stuck in streaks. Yes, yes... humans often see patterns or some confirmation bias but I've played this game long enough to encounter the flaws in the RNG.

Pick any randomised loot you want. Now go to spawn points for that loot anywhere on the map. You'll find the same 'random' item over and over. Doesn't matter if it clothes, drugs, alcohol, magazines, whatever it'll 'group' the RNG.

Now consider that same flawed system controlling the mod unlocks. This is why some players are extremely lucky, they unlocked a lot in a short time frame because they were in that lucky window.

But... there is the market. The market removes RNG for one person but doesn't remove it completely. It just transfers the burden on to someone else.

I've seen enough from old datamines to know BGS don't have a clue how to structure their RNG, Asylum Dresses are proof of that.

move it to 3%

or.. u know.. it's just simply a dice roll each and every time... like they stated.

Just like real life, you CAN flip a coin 1000 times and never come up heads. It isn't likely, and is a very, very low chance, but it CAN happen.

The possibility exists that one guy might get a plan each and every time he scraps, and his buddobud may never get a plan with 10000 items scraped, but the probability of either is exceedingly low.

There isn't some secret conspiracy against you, is not some special code in the algorithm of the game to prevent -YOU- from getting them, or some Console dev cheat code the 'shadow government' provides to specific players to make sure they get all the mods NAO!

It is pure odds and chance. Every time you scrap an item u roll the dice twice per star (one for mod, 1 for plan) and COULD, theoretically, learn all 3 plans and gain all 3 box-mods with 1 scrap. But the odds u will get neither is 99:100 or 98.5:100.

Calm your sweaty tatos and just play, eventually everyone will get all the want, via either direct drops, learning then crafting, or buying from someone who has. Just gotta be patient and enjoy the game.

It seems like last week, I had a lot more luck with scrapping legendary stuff but then this week nothing. Starting to think maybe there's a limit.

Like wheels, it can be up and can be down, balanced out. I might already scraps hundreds, and so far perhaps about 12-13 learned. At least some of better one obtained already.

This whole thing sounds like a mess. Im glad i stopped playing.

It gives someplace for the "almost great" weapons and armor to go, and ways for people to get what they want. It will take a while for the market to stabilize, but this removes a lot of the mid-grade stuff from circulation and gives people an achievable path to what they want for endgame. It won't ruin your gameplay to be running with a "good but not perfect" weapon - run events until you pick up a Holy Fire.

For completionists, perfectionists, or people who don't have tons of time to redo all the perfect rolls, you can get an "almost perfect" item and make it perfect for yourself.

I think it's a great system that gets rid of the legendary bloat. They just need to flesh it out a little more - more options for getting legendary modules, throw some of the legendary mods into season rewards, etc.
