How does this work?

Do you have to scrap the stuff in say a Tinkers Bench or do you need to put it into a Legendary Scrip machines to get the mods? Curious as I have been scraping them in a bench for a little while now.

Scrap it at a tinkers Bench , Its pretty much like the old ways of scraping stuff to learn plans and mods for the none legendary stuff , So be prepared to do allot of scraping for what you want

So I'm not 100% if this is correct but I am understanding it like this.
You scrap any legendary weapon and there is a chance to learn one of the mods on that weapon. Once learned you can apply that mod to any legendary (or perhaps any of that weapon type like Vampires Shotgun).

So Vampires for example or explosive. There may be restrictions like you cant make a explosive grenade launcher (I think that's how it is).

I have scrapped quite a few things and have not learned one mod yet. So maybe I'm doing it wrong too.

You scrap them in any workbench you can use for scrapping junk and non-legendary gear. When scrapping you have a chance to learn one of the legendary mods (1% chance) or get it as a ready box mod (1,5%). You can also scrap them in legendary scrip machine as before, you don't learn mods but get more scrip.

So if I learn Vampires does it apply to every weapon or just "Shotguns" if that's what I learned it on?

If you put a mod on a gun it works on any type of gun... that said their are some that are armour only and weapon only and some that have different stars for different gear (ex SPECIAL is armour 2* and weapons 3* and they require a different boxmod)

but mutants will work on both armour and weapons

Explosive doesn't work on things with flamer attachments (outside of bugs)


So you have a few ways now

Script machine for more script return on item... this is ideal with items that have garbage mods that no one would want (ex. Nocturnal, 50% vats hit chance, 20% junk weight)

Any workbench you can scrap on... this returns far less script, but gives a 1% chance to learn a plan and a 1.5% chance that it drops a single use box mod for that plan (rolled for each star)... I can craft 14 or so things now

Buy from players

Regular vendor (I never recommend this though caps aren't great)

You can sell the MOD you make or get from scraping, but if you apply it to a gun, you can't sell that gun? Is that correct? Only the player that put the mod on the gun can use the gun?

Correct, Legendary Mod Modules can be sold even crafted ones. Once they are applied to a gun how ever the legendary is bound to the gun and the legendary gun is bound to you.

Corpses are 'bugged' currently and disappear if you don't loot them quickly enough.

I've noticed that too with the Moonshine event. I go toe to toe with the foes and haven't come across any legendary foes there lately, They have all been pushovers.
