Would anyone play an FO76 PvP where getting killed destroys the character and assets permanently, no respawn?
that game done killed my playgroup after Sony scared everyone into thinking they needed a PSN account. sad
Anyone who caught hacking or using third party engine to cheat pretty much landed themselves permanent ban from the game. Developers also engaged with the community aswell. If there's something wrong in the game (happened when someone exploit a bug on newly opened area that pretty much causing a softlock to other players when they play in party), they don't hestitated to lock the system while they investigate it, and ban the alleged players for good. And they don't shy to give player compensation aswell when that happened.
The only problems I think, is that like most live service games is that the gacha system along with the need to constant connection aswell, though they seems a lot more consistent and generous compared others.
I regard Hoyolab as the one that give the best live-service games for their free to play, and very high standard.
Can't say the same with Korean developers so far, and for FO76 that you need to buy the games just to play. Neverless, I play FO76, because of the story and I'm a fan of Fallout seriees. Besides, I need to change paces to get out of boredom and burning out.
If there's anything, I'm quite doubtful about the longetivity of live-service games in the future.
