Game Launch
So i bought the game Friday. I click launch, it opens in task manager, but doesnt display. Steam even clocks its run time. Ive updated every driver, program, OS, even uninstalled and downloaded the game again 4 times. It fails every time to display anything resembling functionality.

I was able to fix my issue. I had installed the game in an external storage so I reinstalled in my internal one. After I did that I found the folder. It's named Fallout76 and it has an engine icon. It was right beside the icon launcher. Once in the file, I modified the resolution values to match my monitor's and changed the screen value to borderless (see below). Apparently, the game can't launch in full screen so you have to change it to borderless

iSize W = 1920
iSize H = 1080
bFull Screen = 0
bBorderless = 1

Also, I had to hide my desktop sticky notes because for some reason, it was messing up the game when attempting to launch it.

Fixed my issue, go to Documents>my games>Fallout76>Fallout76Prefs.ini> change from windowed to fullscreen. bFull Screen=1 bBorderless=0. Works now.

You ad it in the section "Display" like this ->: iPresentInterval=0
iPresentInterval=0 should be under fDefaultWorldFOV=105.0000 (this is the place where you find iPresentInterval normaly)

had this, too. it was possible to run the game, but then it wouldnt launch anymore on restart again.

turned out now it may be due to anti virus or similar software. it ran immediately again when i disabled it.

there are several different types of root issues for crashes on launch. you can try cleaning and reinstalling gpu drivers (in this case there may be issues with dual monitor configurations and color profiles, too), switch between borderless and fullscreen with the ini configuration files or try different modes of vsync by the nvidia control panel or editing the games ini files with iPresentInterval=1 (vsync on) or iPresentInterval=0 (vsync off)).

ipresentinterval will support vsync on up to 75hz or halv of rate for anything beyod (halved vsync). ultrawide monitor resolutions and fovs may also be set in the fallout76custom.ini file with fDefaultWorldFOV and fDefault1stPersonFOV and require additional manual configuration / editing.

Ctrl + f "ipresentinterval" in the document. If you can't see it, then create a new line.
Somewhere under [Display] "iPresentInterval=0" I have mine 43 lines under [Display]

try compatibility mode for windows 8, set run as administrator, disable full screen optimizations for compat. mode.

if it will still never launch on steam, there may be a possibility to install and run it from bethesda launcher.

I installed it on the Bethesda Launcher and ran into the same problem. Never worked, so guess this is what trials are for!

Same problem here. Just quits. First I thought it is the firewall, but even setting the rule, disabling the firewall completely, didnthelp. Event Viewer shows the well known and trivial stats for Fallout76.exe stopped working. Funny thing is I had it working a couple of times, but just now it doesnt work, though it shows Game Server is online.
I searched for a log, no luck. This is due the bad transparency in Windows 10 related to network issues and the lazy work from Bethesda.

PS:
Somehow I solved it, by using Validate and Repair from the Bethesda launcher.
After running it for about 15 minutes, it worked. Seems to have very volatile files.

PSPS:
Very funny, now it does not work again.
I haven't changed anything.
When it was working I restarted it twice, to see if I was just lucky.
Lazy work Bethesda, really.

PSPSPS:
Ran Scan and Repair again, works again. Grief. Lazy work Bethesda.
