change the control key form cap to other letter like Z for easy use
just hold the key when you speak

In the steam setting....start microphone test. You may want to start of with is, set to default for both voice input device and output device. If it not working, you may need to change the settings to another choice in the pull down menu.
You should also do a microphone test/sound within your pc. Usually that where the issue lies there. Check to see if you wires that connect to you pc tower to your head set or speakers/mic is correctly connected.

On my game headset mic wand, where it moves upwards to mute and flip it down to talk..so my it set to open microphone. For the push to talk and to mute,is mostly for the mouse/keyboard use.

After you have think you solved the issue than go back into the in game setting and select area. What I did was go up to players in the game and ask them if they can hear me? Make any adjustments and keep trying, You'll get it.

This game is extremely odd when it comes to sound. It's the only game where sound cuts completely out when in a conversation with npcs, using workbenches, or in world loading screens. You can hear incoming sound the entire time but outgoing sound only works when in the Game-World and Shelters.

If it is Bluetooth, good luck. I scrapped several headsets before I went back to wired

My friend joined me today and I wasn't able to chat with them

the fix is to cycle team auto area off back

sometimes it works, sometimes it don't
