My 2nd's second build is heavy weapons and I'm somewhat new to the play style.
He explained that Penta would increase fire rate = more damage but the ammo use is much higher.
It's currently using the Tri. I loathe grinding and when 76 becomes a chore it's not a game anymore. The trade off for Tri isn't worth the ammo waste.
The faster barrels seem nice but getting closer with an explosive weapon isn't nice.
I definitely agree with this. I have always stuck to using the single barrel after trying them all out. The actual damage difference between them was not huge. Unless you want to be in the face of the enemies you are shooting at and likely taking explosion damage, the longer range and less damage drop off with the single barrel is the way to go.
Gauss mini is sort of unique that it can keep a very long range and with its decent accuracy and still be effective at this longer range, where the other heavy guns will struggle to perform as well.
