Cannot get more LUCK points after level up... help!

Think I may have ruined my char as I chose a luck perk on level up last 5 levels, before I realized that... CHOOSING A LUCK PERK IS NOT RAISING MY LUCK SCORE/POINTS.

After I choose new luck perk for level up my luck points do not go up and I can't even equip my new perk (not enough luck points because no luck points were gained)

I was under the impression that's how you gained all points was by choosing a perk of that attribute, but LUCK its not working that way and I wasted 6 points on it now trying to raise it.

So WTF? Can anyone explain this? Some kind of bug? Do I have the wrong impression about how leveling up works? Thanks

When you level up, you first choose an attribute. That is what boosts your attributes, not choosing a perk card that uses that attribute. It also defaults to showing you the perks you can choose from for that attribute, though you can always change the filter to show perks for other attributes. You do not have to pick a perk card that uses the same attribute as the one you boosted.

You can not ruing your character like this. Once you are level 25, you get access to the punchcard machines. One can be found at any train station, and you can build one in your camps. That allows you to change your attributes around however you want.

Points spent on luck are never wasted. You'll learn.

Not a problem, use a "Punch Card Machine" at any Train Station, and you can swap your Special points around. Each level you can pick another card. Just level up, if you need different cards.

Stats for each Special ,only goes up to level 15 for perk cards, any extra, does not help for equipping perk cards.

With the Legendary Luck Perk card at level 5 you can get 5 more, Luck, but since you have maxed luck, it does not help for perk cards. Only for some Luck stat, but unlike Strength, which provides +5 carry weight per level. I don't know what luck does at that level. Good Luck keep playing.

I guess what is happening is I am going into the level up screen to change my perks (by pressing B / cancel instead), and somehow getting turned around and not seeing the "choose an attribute" screen, later when I do actually want to level up (and not just change my perks)... only seeing a bunch of perk cards to choose of different attributes all mixed together (in alphabetical order)...

did not notice any other attributes gaining points tho?

anyways think I will figure it out eventually using the punch card machine, thanks for advice, now I don't have to re-start my char! =) i hope

You hit the SPECIAL level cap (50) and no longer get a special point on levelup

SPECIAL stat stop raised at level 50, only get perk card after that. The only way to raise your overall stat above level 50 is by using legendary perk cards, or allocating your stats anytime with punch card machine.

First thing to understand is that each SPECIAL attribute maxxes out at 15.
You can't go higher than that.
What you can do is move your SPECIAL allocations around using the punch card machine.
Those Luck cards you selected won't go to waste. You can keep them or maybe scrap them for perk coins which can be used later on to upgrade the legendary perk cards that become available as you level up and become a legendary character.
At some stage you will likely want to rearrange your SPECIAL allocation to try different builds or make your current allocation more efficient if you decide to use Legendary SPECIAL cards.

Yep now am lvl 55
when punch card machine used says have 49 SPECIAL points. So I guess you get one for every level (except level one) up to 50.
