Recently done a full uninstall (mods and all) and done a clean install because the game was failing to boot from steam library. I'm now having the same issue not 2 days later! what in the hell is going on? I was just playing this not 3 hours ago....

If that doesn't work, turn off all unnesserary programs in the background. Maybe its a program causing it not to start. Google Chrome can cause the game to crash aswell for some, happen to one or two in the forum.
Same here.
Seems to me that this is an ongoing issue with the game and one that is affecting a lot of people. Maybe Bethesday should work on a fix for this?
In fallout76prefs.ini under Display.
bFull Screen=0
bBorderless=0
I only play games in Borderless Windowed mode, so there was nothing for me to even change.
So far, not had the issue again but no, no fix... F76 will work when it wants to. If i get this issue again, i will uninstall forever!
Latest patch also crashes with opera internet brownser running in the background for some. Might need to turn it completly off with task manager.
Overlay programs can cause the game to crash aswell, msi afterburner for example, or internet security softwares. Windows defender will crash the game aswell if you didn't let the game to have access to internet. Maybe just turn off all unnessersary programs and see if any of them causes the game to crash.
The newest email asked me to edit my fallout76prefs.ini in my /my games directory, but uh ... there's is no fallout76prefs.ini on my computer leading me to wonder if steam isn't supplying my instal correctly? I'm not sure what's going on honestly, and just want to finish up so i can get back to hooting internet bats.
Very confusing.
