Junk in stash

I am only 6th level and have not really determined this yet, so I thought to ask here. Is junk stored in your stash available for use at workbenches or must I put them in my backpack to use them?

Yes. When you craft materials gets pulled from your stash.

Just remember to always scrap whole junk items down into loose materials. Never store whole junk items in your stash. They weigh a ton and cannot be used for crafting unless they are broken down.

There are many items that will not automatically break down as they are used for other things. You need to manually click to break them down if you do want to scrap them.

Sometimes there is no choice but to put the items in stash if a scrap box is unavailable. Just remember to move junk to scrap box as soon as you can.

I don't think OP has Fallout 1st. They specifically were asking about junk in the stash, so more than likely don't have the use of a scrap box.
