Trying to get back into the game.
So i love fallout 4, i bought fallout 76 back when it released and i did play it alot back then.

Then i took a long break and now i thought that it changed so much that it would be fresh and fun again but this is like the 3rd time trying to give it a try again.

But every time i get to the camp building or if try to ignore it and see some one else with a nice camp and unobtainable deco stuff i just lose all interest in the game.

Building a camp is a pain, i always end up with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ looking basic square building.
I want to build something unique or use my imagination atleast a little bit but no matter how much i try i always end up with "Part of the structure would be inaccessible" just blocking every single "cool" or "unique" design i try to make.

So i always end up going back to fallout 4 because of that...

Then we have the seasons... now i might be wrong here but from my understanding alot of season rewards are unobtainable and this is just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ way of saying "because you dont spend 3/4 of your life in fallout 76 then screw you.

I did not even know about seasons untill season 5 or 6.

I mean i understand season rewards are supposed to be rewards for playing the game... but its just a huge drop down on my interest in the game.

I wanted to buy the monthy subscription cause i understand you can change your world to make camp building more forgivable but as money is not a thing i can use as toilet paper i feel like i have no interest to pay for the subscription.

I donno but i just feel like the only thing fallout 76 wins on over fallout 4 is the possibility to coop with a friends... to bad all my friends quit fallout 76 long time ago and they wont touch the game again.

So i donno but maybe anyone could enlighten me maybe on my issues and correct me if im wrong on something?

If you don't feel like playing the game. Don't play the game.
If it doesn't interest or excite you. Don't play the game.

You can build awsome camps without buying stuff inthe atom shop. If you want to buy stuff i suggest being patient and only buying stuff you actually need and not just stuff that looks cool but not much else. For example, buying the catwalk pieces gives you the ability to do several different build glitches/ build techniques that are not possible otherwise while a new sofa is just a new sofa and brings no extra functionality.
There are several different build glitches/ techniques that you can use in the game to work around Bethesdas clunky build system. There are some awsome build tutorials on youtube for that.
To be honest i mostly use the vanilla game build sets since they look the most imersive and scrappy witch blends in to the world much better.

The seasons are super long and you dont have to log in every single day to complete the season in time. If you just spend a little time doing the dailys/ weeklys when you do log in, it should be no problem. As for season reward items from previous seasons, some of them end upp as plans in gold bullion vendors and others end upp in the atom shop as "catch up" bundles.

If you get Fallout 1st you also get atoms every month you can spend on that stuff.

But then again, dont force yourself to play if you dont feel it. Games should be fun, not a chore.

Yeah the thing is i want to play the game but the things i said is what puts it down every time, i did not know about the catwalk glitch/technique so i have to check that out it might help me with the issue or any other tips i find.

So what it comes to previous season rewards, are they still possible to get?
I mean im fine if they are sold in the atom shop every once in a while... just the knowledge of knowing that i can still get them also eases my mind on the issue

This might sound silly but i saw last season had an awesome mailbox in the form of an fish and as im a big fan of fishes i would love to have it and if i have to wait for to be avalible in the atmo shop or do extra work to get it then im fine.

I have some extra plans I can "lend" you to spruce the place up a bit...!

*Side note, give me a day. By the end of a play period I typically have ten or so plans I already known that I just toss, so ATM I've only saved expensive ones that will make your camp look like a torture dungeon... not exactly pretty...
IGN, if you want me to drop you a good started pack later :)

Old season rewards can be acquired by waiting like FOREVER for them to pop up in the atom shop but if you join their official Discord and subreddit it's really easy to request items! They even used to make personalized sales, years ago.

Oh that would be nice of you, yeah i wont be playing today anyway so no hurry.

Thats actually good news with the discord channel i have to check that out too then.

I first thought it was a bad idea to post here in the discussion about my problem but right now it actually might not be as a bad situation as i though.

I really wish I had a plan for the Antler Chandelier. What Season, release, package was that thing from?

But as to the "building" in this game yeah it frustrates to the extreme. Learning how to glitch building blocks so I can get even half of the use out of them they should have at face value is not good quality programming in my opinion.

The rest... I am still enjoying.

R is still the reload button.

One of the things I dislike is that you cannot build atomic shop items without knowing the plan.

I think building large buildings is one of the worst things one can do, I started with a 4x4, it was nice but then I went smaller, 3x3, all the way to now a 2x2. One of the best ways to separate rooms are the pre-built staircases and walls.

If you really want some atomic shop items for building, try the old west bar set (best thing ever), glass walls are great and I do not regret getting the new one. the contemporary and lodge building set are both nice.

If those don't fancy you, you can always try out pre-built structures, I only have one (mobile home trailer) it looks disgusting and terrible, I hate the floor grittiness; but its perfect, I have yet to build the insides but I found an amazing plot of land just for it. I have used the glass walls and have built a bit on the top of it. I am thinking about buying the makeshift mega mansion, but imo its a bit too built for me.

but as always you do not need to purchase them, I only did because I grinded for the free atoms.

I have taken this to heart, I wander to many bases. I found a really cool lighting design that consists of the electrical pipes and the cage bulb lights.

How else are they supposed to be Atom Shop items?

I cant build a cooking stove? but yet I can build glass walls, a whole log cabin, a entire vault shelter and a dilapidated mobile trailer.

You can get camp building plans from claiming and defending workshops. Also check players' vendor stations! I for one sell all plans at 20% of their original price.

I'll be online soon. Same name as here.

only 20%? I only buy plans if they are 10 - 100.

100 for the rare ones, 10 caps for the more common ones, unless I find them for 0-1 of course.

Think of camp building as an iterative process that you 'level up' over time. Early on with limited plans you will be weak, but as you unlock plans over time your building potential increases dramatically.

To use an example:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2521311359

This was one of my early attempts at more style over function camp. It was intended to be a basic L shaped motel. As you can see from the limited plans it is just an ugly, formless brown mass that no one would know what it was meant to be. Even Grahm was unimpressed.

Fast forward 2ish years:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2822332746

After 'levelling up' with numerous season unlocks, atomic store purchases with free season/challenge atoms, free giveaways, in game plan hunting/buying a similar L shaped building is now far more colourful and recognisable.

Start off functional and 'level up' over time to powerful with plans and build knowledge. It is surprisingly Zen to have decide on which floor tiles to use in a room.
